Essay on Watergate

Reflects Bill Moyers' personal attempt to understand how a political scandal the proportion of Watergate could have occurred. Reviews the taped testimony of Mitchell, Ehrlichman, Magruder, and other Senate witnesses. Discusses with journalists William White and Richard Strout, historian Henry Steele Commager, and several others various other scandals in U.S. history, the expanding role of the presidency, and aspects of American history that help to explain the Watergate morality. Finalist, 1976 American Film Festival.
