Description: A portrait of Koinonia Farm founded in 1942 by charismatic scholar-theologian-farmer, Dr. Clarence Jordan. Koinonia (which means commune or partnership in ancient Greek) is a 1500-acre farm in Sumter County, Georgia, where some one hundred members live a simple lifestyle based on the New Testament concepts of sharing and nonviolence. Interviews with participants are interwoven with scenes from life on the farm -- housing construction, worship service, candy and fruitcake kitchens, farming and a day care center. The group's stormy history with the Ku Klux Klan is also described.
