Description: Ever wanted to take a peek at the inside of the world's largest Van De Graaff generator? The engaging Dr. David Lutyens does that here, and pulls apart a small one to show how it's constructed. This "lost" film was never distributed, and is a rare Kodachrome answer print from the collection of the late Milan Herzog. We surmise that it was intended to be part of a series entitled 'Physics Course for Secondary Schools,' to be distributed by Encyclopaedia Britannica films. Here, Lutyens illustrates positive and negative charges with scarf, coat hanger, comb, and balloons before he gets to the big stuff.
