Explains that electric current is one form of energy. Illustrates different kinds of circuits and points out the functions of the chief components, including the battery, wires and bulb. Uses electric motors and electromagnets as examples to demonstrate that a current passing through a wire creates a resistance which causes the wire to become hot, and that it has a magnetic effect.
