At 58, Doc Counsilman, Indiana University swimming coach and two-time Olympic coach, became the oldest individual to swim the English Channel, in record time, 13 hours, 7 minutes. Highlights of his record-breaking swim are intercut with flashbacks showing Doc training for the event and at work coaching his university swimming team.
