Description: Examines the green alga volvox as a basis for understanding the growth and differentiation of other organisms. Shows the developmental stages of male, female and asexual embryos, including cell divisions, differentiation into somatic and reproductive cells, release of male sperm packets and their penetration of the female and germination of the zygote.
