Synopsis: The film opens with Bob and a group of sleepy-eyed, excited high school boys and girls at the railroad station waiting for the return of Joe Watson, one of their friends. Bob had wondered why everyone seemed to be so fond of Joe. Before he knew him, Bob had thought Joe conceited. When he found that Joe was genuinely friendly, Bob changed his mind. All of us want friends, but the need for friends seems peculiarly intense during the high school years.
