Description: This 1963 footage documents the demolition of the Millett Mansion in Austin. The mansion belonged to Captain Charles F. Millett, owner of a lumber supply business. In 1878, Millett diversified his interests by building the Millett Opera House (which still stands) adjacent to his home. Built in a Victorian style, the mansion also served as a boarding house. This short film shows both the exterior and interior of the mansion as the building is stripped of useful lumber and bricks.
