Description: Art Baker uses decimals as he figures out how much the gasoline to be used by his family on their vacation will cost. He finds the distance to be traveled, the price variations in gasoline along the way, the number of miles the car will go on one gallon, and the number of gallons needed for the trip. From this he figures the total cost, thereby proving to his father that there will be enough extra money in the budget for the rubber boat he wants for the vacation.
