Description: Describes industry's practice of contracting out work, using as an example a manufacturing plant which decides to rent trucking services. Points out the effects of this practice on the individual worker and questions the role of labor in such cases. The film addresses the problem of truckers who are finding their hours curtailed because the local factory is cutting costs by "contracting out" their work to lower-paying workers. Union problem? You bet! A good half of the film is office-room negotiation, but as you can see here there are some nice set-up passages of truckers one the job.
