Coming home

An examination of America's post-Vietnam syndrome and the plight of the Vietnam veteran. Focuses on two vets: Richard Linder, a 28-year-old Black man from Brooklyn, and Donald Sproehnle, a 25-year-old white man from Philadelphia. They discuss their reasons for joining the army in their teens and recount wartime experiences. They explain the psychological changes they underwent in Vietnam and their present feelings of hurt and anger.
, The story of a seventeen-year-old girl who arrives at a group home after ten years in a state institution for the retarded. The film traces her growth in achieving a sense of personal self-worth and dignity, while also illustrating the community's reaction to the group home. Not all of the community's hostile feelings are resolved, but facts do replace myths and a young girl does find a new way of life. Produced by WQED, Pittsburgh.

Sally Hyde is married to Bob Hyde, a Marine Corps captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, who is about to be deployed to Vietnam. At first, Sally dreads being left alone, but after a while, she feels liberated. With nothing else to do, she decides to volunteer at a local veterans' hospital. At the hospital, Sally meets Luke Martin, a former high school classmate who is a paraplegic. Luke is a bitter young man but as he is increasingly thrown into contact with Sally, a relationship starts to develop.
