Complete Record: This 9-minute silent raw footage reel is production material for a Coronet Films art education piece on color in art, shot on October 20, 1966 (Director: Walker, Cameraman: Kolar). The footage is largely a series of intimate close-ups exploring paint and color: bold swathes of red-orange brushstrokes filling the frame with raw pigment texture, and a paintbrush actively laying down rust-colored paint against a white ground. A production clapperboard marking Scene 120, Take 1, "MOS" (filmed without sound) confirms this is unedited camera negative from what would have been a multi-scene production. Coronet Films was one of the most prolific producers of American educational films, and this raw material gives a rare behind-the-scenes look at how their visually lush art instruction films were captured on 16mm before narration and editing were added.
