Description: Illustrates the obstacles facing Columbus in his search for a new route to the East. Shows him as a mapmaker in Portugal where he developed his passion for reaching the Indies by sailing west. Follows his attempts to obtain support, first from the King of Portugal and later from Ferdinand and Isabella, and relives his first voyage and triumph of his discovery.
