Complete Record: Nicholas, an old woodcutter, follows a deer into the forest and finds a lost boy. He leads the boy back to the roadway and shows him how to carve a whistle. On returning home, he finds, as he tries to carve a Baby Jesus for his little Nativity scene, he can no longer carve. After he distributes his carvings, he kneels to pray that he can carve more gifts for the next Christmas season. As he raises his eyes, he finds among his figures Baby Jesus.
