Description: A study of the art activities of first-grade children in a Tokyo school. Under the guidance of their teacher, the children are encouraged to express themselves freely in the use of crayon, finger paint, oil, and clay. Shows how home and school experiences of the individual child may influence the selection and treatment of the subject, and how the feelings of the child are communicated in spontaneous creative effort. Shows some of the behavioral changes which gradually occur during a school year.
