Description: Episode of Series “Digestion”. An account of the chief changes involved in the chemical breakdown of the main types of food during digestion. Shows the secretion of saliva and its action on cooked starch; the gastric glands; secretion of intestinal bile and pancreatic juice and their effect on proteins, carbohydrates and fats; the absorption of nutrients through the villi and lacteals into the blood and its subsequent circulation through the body.
