Description: Narrated by Keenan Wynn, this film briefly traces Chaplin’s early life, his days with the Fred Karne vaudeville troupe and his film career up until the time he left Mutual Studios at the end of 1917. Extracts from many of Chaplin’s important early films are shown, including “Making a living” (1914), “Kid auto races at Venice” (1914), “The Vagabond” (1916), “the Pawnshop” (1916), “The Rink” (1916), “Easy Street” (1917), “The Immigrant” (1917) and “The Adventurer” (1917).
