Description: This program is one of three segments included in the January 14, 1968 broadcast of National Educational Television's Public Broadcast Laboratory (PBL) series. This program provides a forum on the Catholic Church, focusing on the Church’s authority in today’s world, made particularly relevant because of a pastoral letter issued by the Roman Catholic Bishops which decries destructive and hostile attitudes within the Church. PBL’s Dave Duggan presides over the forum, which includes conservative and liberal priests, former priests, nuns and laypeople concerning the authority of the church in the lives of Roman Catholics. Participants include Robert Brousseau; former Bishop of Minneapolis, James Shannon; and Father Christopher Mooney, head of the theology department at Fordham University.
