Description: Robert Culp tells it like it is. Great dated piece. Provides a checklist of hidden prejudices which enables viewers to question their own myths and stereotypes concerning racial relations. The myths that perpetuate prejudice against Black people in our society and the subtle ways that hate is learned are explored. The social and economic differences that do exist between Blacks and whites are caused by historical inequities in education and economic opportunity and are, in some cases, perpetuated by laws. Examples are given of areas in which government, business, and Black and white people are working together to wipe out the hatred and misunderstanding between races., Points out the fallacious and misinformed thinking which spawns racial prejudice and hate. Documents the ways racial prejudice may be ingrained in society, how it is masked, and the ways it manifests itself. Notes the socio-economic inequality which follows many black Americans from infancy onward, leading to discouragement, loss of ambition, and life-long personality deficits. Surveys the varying views and reactions held by Negroes and Caucasians on the questions of violence, black racial pride, black power, and social values. Points out efforts by members of both races, government, and business to effect harmony through racial understanding and cooperation.
