Presents Dr. Frederic Leboyer's method of birth which aims to minimize the birth trauma through the use of subdued lighting in the delivery area, the laying of the new infant on its mother's stomach, the delaying of cutting the umbilical cord, and the general soothing and relaxing motions of massage and bathing.
