Birds and billabongs

Description: Records the 1948 Arnhem Land Expedition, sponsored by the national Geographic Society, the Smithsonian Institute of America and the Commonwealth Government. Shows various types of birds found in Arnhem Land including terns, plovers, Burdekin ducks, sharp-tailed sand pipers, geese, royal spoonbills, the snake bird, brolgas, white necked heron, the egret and the lotus bird. The sound track includes actual recordings of bird song.
