Loose leaf notebook filled with detailed, typewritten notes on film stocks, lens filters, lighting schema, make-up tips and other topics.

Note
William Birch assembled these notebooks, collecting detailed information about various film stocks, light sensitivity ratings, recommended aperture settings, filters, lighting set-ups and color temperatures, special effects such as Day-for-Night, including notes on clothing and make-up. These technical notebooks document his transition from shooting 35mm black and white film for newsreel production to 16mm films for a wider variety of purposes.
