Description: Connects the major scenes of the full-length feature Becket by narrative summaries, emphasizing the conflict between church and state personified in the struggle between Thomas Becket and King Henry II. Shows King Henry elevating Becket to the chancellorship of the realm; his later appointment of Becket as Archbishop of Canterbury; the conflict which occurs between the two after a baron kills a priest; Becket's meeting with Pope Alexander III, who refuses to relieve him from the duties of Archbishop; Becket's decision to return to England; his meeting with Henry on the shore at Freteval; and his murder in church by barons.
