Description: Portrays the courage and industry of the British people as decisive factors in repelling the World War II invasion attempt by German forces. Uses Axis footage and maps to outline the German plan to gain air control, bombard English coastal cities, cross the channel from occupied France, and surround London. Shows the preparation of all elements of British society in manufacturing munitions, building coastal defenses, training for ground fighting, and preparing air raid shelters. Follows the stages of battle with maps and combat footage as Germany was forced by RAF superiority to change strategy and documents the destruction as German planes concentrated on London.
