Content Description
Various scenes of a basketball game played between North Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina on February 27, 1971 at Reynolds Coliseum, Raleigh, NC. UofSC wins 82 to 69. GAME RECAP: South Carolina scored nine straight points to begin the second half in route to a convincing 82-69 ACC win over the Wolfpack. Senior guard John Roche paced the Gamecocks with 22-second half points to finish with 37 for the game prior to fouling out with 2:10 remaining. Tom Owens pulled down 15 rebounds and defended State's leading scorer, Ed Leftwich during the decisive second half. The victory boosted South Carolina's record to 19-4 on the season with a 9-4 slate in the ACC. FINAL SCORE: USC 82 NC State 69; HEAD COACHES: SC-Frank McGuire NC ST-Norm Sloan.

Collection Description
This collection includes 16mm film and video shot by the University of South Carolina's Athletic Department from the 1940s to the 1990s. Most of the films document UofSC's football and basketball programs; a handful document the University's track-and-field program. The majority of films and videos show games played by the Fighting Gamecocks, both football and basketball teams, and include full games and highlights, with defensive and offensive wide shots, for training, scouting and recruitment purposes, as well as special events in the athletic calendar.
