With his wife, Joan, Root touches down in a lake and is dangerously dragged across it by the wind. They land in a forest and are finally the first to balloon over the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro at 25,000 feet. , Follows Joan and Alan Root, wildlife photographers, as they first learn to fly and then travel across East Africa in a hot air balloon. Shows Alan learning to control the balloon after several mishaps. Surveys animal life, topographical features, and ecological problems of the area.
