foreign and elaborate wedding reception May feature the efforts of many talented Craftsmen a sculpture carved in ice will make an impressive centerpiece for the wedding reception table foreign well it was a lot of stuff um so we've been scanning stuff for Craig Baldwin he was a filmmaker and [Music] um he gives us sometimes little Snippets and so these are a bunch of little Snippets that I was like well I'll just put them all together into one thing so there was a variety of different things there um none of which had titles none of which had any description only one of them had sound um but you know I figured you guys would dig it I'm skip Alzheimer and welcome to the AV Geeks lunchtime streaming show where we watch old 16 millimeter films and those were definitely on 16 millimeter um got a Coronet film for you water for the community enjoy [Music] every Community needs water people in this town know that the tank they see near their post office holds part of their important water supply they need water at home mainly for cooking and for their personal comfort and health factories and businesses in the community also need water for agricultural purposes is furnished by many communities water in swimming pools contributes much to the recreation of the community and water to fight fire is essential to a community's safety every Community must be sure of having enough water for all its particular needs where can we find water water is in the air and in the clouds that float in the air water evaporates into the air from all the oceans lakes and rivers of the earth and from the surface of the Earth eventually this invisible water vapor changes back into tiny droplets of liquid water which form clouds when the droplets of water in the clouds increase in size becoming large heavy drops they fall to the Earth again in the form of rain or in another form such as snow sleet or hail some of this water runs off into streams and lakes to become our surface water supply much of the water that falls on the ground seeps into the Earth and so water that has evaporated returns once more to Earth completing its cycle each Community gets its water from its largest convenient source of supply some communities get their water from Lakes some from rivers and others from Mountain Streams that may be near or hundreds of miles away streams and rivers are often damned to form reservoirs here water is stored for later use while surface water often has to be carried many miles this is not usually the case in communities that use water that is in the ground beneath them these communities drill Wells into the ground water seeps into them and accumulates it can be pumped to the surface used or stored if desired groundwater is usually cleaner than surface water which is exposed to impurities of many kinds most water before it can be used must be purified the steps in this treatment depend on the condition of the water supply in each community in many communities for example one surface water has been drawn from its source and held in storage a step in its treatment is making the water clear this can be done by settling and filtration in the reservoir both processes start while heavy solids such as mud and silt settle to the bottom floating solids are caught on screens that keep them out of the water system when the water reaches the treatment plant it usually is kept in large settling basins for a time to let more of the tiny solid particles settle out in the treatment plant certain chemicals such as Alum are often added to speed up the settling process such chemicals called coagulants make the tiny suspended particles in the water cluster together and sink to the bottom the nearly clear water then runs into filter basins where the other sediments that might still be in the water are filtered out this cutaway model of a filter Basin shows how water is filtered by seeping down through layers of fine sand and gravel to run out pipes at the bottom when the engineer opens a valve the water in each Basin slowly begins to seep down through the layers of the filter every few days Engineers must clean the layers of the filters by a process called backwash in backwashing the Basin clean filtered water is forced in at the bottom it rushes up through the layers of the filter washing away the mud and foreign particles that have accumulated there after the waste from the filters is washed into a trough it is pumped to a sludge pit here much of the Wastewater evaporates leaving the sludge which is later taken away sludge removal is generally the last step in making surface water clear but where the community source of water is in the ground the Earth as shown here in cross-section acts as a natural filter as groundwater seeps through soil sand gravel and porous Rock most suspended matter and other solid impurities are removed but the need to make water clear is only one reason for treatment there are many other special problems when water seeps through the ground it often dissolves and picks up certain minerals when soap is added to such water these minerals keep the soap from working effectively this kind of water is called hard water to correct this special problem water must be treated by a process called softening water is frequently softened chemically by adding lime and soda ash in settling basins these chemicals combine with the dissolved minerals in the water so that they will settle out a coagulant is often added to the water to speed up the settling action in The Basin after the water is softened it is easy to get a lather from soap groundwater often picks up other minerals and gases that give it a bad taste or odor it is desirable to remove them by spraying water into the air or by passing air through water these substances can be removed the oxygen in air combines with them forming new substances which can later be filtered out this process of bringing water in contact with air is called aeration surface water too may have a bad taste caused by microscopic plants called algae sometimes water is treated with copper sulfate to kill algae there are a number of other less common special problems that different communities face depending on their own particular water source but one step in water treatment common to most communities is the killing of bacteria most commonly done by chlorination at the treatment plant a poisonous gas called chlorine is added to the water but the amount of chlorine added is so small that it is harmful only to the bacteria in the water to be sure that enough chlorine has been added to kill the bacteria samples of the water are tested at regular intervals in addition to tests for chlorine content tests are also run to make sure that any remaining bacteria are completely harmless still more tests may be required depending on the nature of the water supply in different communities in a growing number of communities chemicals which contain the element fluorine are added to the water fluorine in drinking water helps prevent tooth decay when the water has passed all these careful tests it is ready for storage and distribution in the community when water is ready for distribution it may be pumped or it may Flow by gravity from high tanks to users in the community most communities have an adequate water supply most of the time but in some communities there are periods of the year when the water supply is low at such times everyone must help by not wasting water scientists will probably solve the water shortage problem for coastal cities by putting into large-scale operation inexpensive ways of making sea water drinkable but even then Inland communities will rely mostly on either surface water or groundwater for their sources of supply and water treatment plants will continue their work of making water clear ing special problems and killing bacteria so that water is available for distribution in this film you have seen certain procedures followed in a certain order it is likely that your community does not use this exact method of water treatment the reasons for this difference are interesting and important find out what the special problems are in your community's water supply learn how your community makes water safe and convenient for you to use foreign it's interesting so uh things like safe drinking water in a community uh is something that was the infrastructure in the United States to do that and then suddenly something happened where it's like well we're not supporting that infrastructure as much anymore oh well that's too expensive or oh um you know actually bottled water that's that's the way to go it it it's a weird kind of shift um I'm not gonna so box it but it is interesting how that changed and certainly I guess I was reading yesterday that Phoenix uh might not be able to provide clean water for their Community because they're growing too big and then also the amount of water is is getting less so these are challenges that we're still facing we still haven't figured out so there you go um so behind me what I have figured out is that I have a film on the scanner and this one is it's an interesting title it's a longer film but I'm I'm really kind of fascinated by it it's called Stringer a portrait of a newsreel cameraman so it's basically following I'm guessing uh a cameraman who shot newsreels in maybe the 20s and 30s I'm not sure let's see what happens uh all right so this is Stringer portrait of a newsreel cameraman enjoy on November 15 1932 the motorcycle club of Toledo rode to the edge of town to make a newsreel story with Mike kittinger Fox movie Tony to prove the story with one condition it had to be more than an ordinary motorcycle race well that was no problem for Mike he never did anything that was ordinary Mike found a farmer who agreed to let the men race to his turkey flock catch a turkey and return to the starting point [Music] as the motorcycles finished their run from the group of turkeys they would come down this old Lane to a gate then as they passed this is the camera that I used to to photograph them at the finish line being out here where we made the newsreel story of the motorcycles catching turkeys today is a considerable difference it's a matter of fact it's a bit shocking quite surprising the turkeys are gone the fence is gone and the farmer's gone I'm still here how do you do ladies and gentlemen this is Graham McNamee broadcasting the latest event as the universal newsreel talking reporter [Music] for more than 20 years until the beginning of Television Americans saw the outside world to the eye of a newsreel camera before each Hollywood feature the newsreel brought images of disaster violence and the Absurd many of these came from the camera mic getting her Mike was a Stringer a freelance cameraman who shot film for all the major newsreels for freelance men money came only when the film was used and if no news was breaking Mike would search for the Absurd and he'd usually find it the newsreels always took a fancy to what was termed a novelty and that would cover animals children or odd inventions Fort Wayne Indiana police get a preview of the traffic guy a camera sleuth that convicts traffic violators the driver controls the shutter from the wheel he sets the lens and we're ready for the test speedometer on the fender is in range of the camera and registers the speed as the police chase a culprit be careful how you weave on the highways or from now on it's your word against the camera and pictures don't lie oh yeah buddy Tell It To The Judge but your honor I was only doing 20. why that old car won't do 40. besides I had my hand out that's what he says well you better come across with your fine partner the traffic guy has the goods on you like the traffic guy this anti-skid device never got on the idea was simple mount a steel Runner under your car a simple press of the floor button with and the runner drops into position ready to guide your car through the turn back on the straight road just pump the floor pedal and the runner returns to position the advantages are obvious if you drive on dirt roads for people with small apartments Mike found this space-saving convenience a kitchen table perfect for entertaining and after the guests are gone just cover the attached stove lift the table top and here's a beautiful bathtub Slide the tub out and you're ready to bathe [Music] a newspaper article then Mike to this man the inventor of the ultimate energy saver a current generating perpetual motion machine with a perpetual motion machine in your living room you'd have electricity light lamps while you work heat your iron or power your vacuum cleaner activated by a metal cylinder this rumbling collection of chains gears wires and storage batteries have shook the floor so much that Mike had to shoot the story twice to get a steady image on film bulletproof materials developed by Toledo's glass companies were a regular source of newsreel invention stories and there was a steady stream of people willing to trust the glass for a chance to be in the movies [Music] foreign as the male even Mike spent some time on the other side of the glass before I got into the newsreel activity I was um managing uh dry cleaning and laundry and it come a time when we sold it right then I about the same time I read an ad in a magazine to become a motion picture photographer and I answered the ad and it wound up that I took a correspondence course and then I after finishing the course the School sent sheet listing newsreel companies that I was to contact which I did and it turned out that my immediately my first assignment was a bathing Duty contest at Cedar Point Ohio [Music] it was rather simple you couldn't do anything with bathing beauties except to let them pray [Music] anything out of the ordinary was a good bet for a story and when a troop of performing dogs stayed with one of Mike's neighbors he grabbed his camera for a shot of the Blindfolded tightrope Walker [Music] the first recreational vehicles were Novelties this group called themselves the tin can tourists of the world and when they held their annual convention in Sandusky Mike was there to record it button loose restaurant the famous restaurant where one could be insulted [Music] for years the bud and Luke restaurant attracted people with their circus atmosphere that included mistreating their customers in every conceivable way no one ever knew how their food would be delivered for how their cream would be served or what other plans the waiters might have dreamed up for them now this was a ketchup they put ketchup on this man's head then they put the plunger on it as a matter of fact they couldn't get the plunger off they had to punch a hole in it about once a week the waiters would throw someone out of the restaurant [Music] caught with silverware in his pockets and they had a habit of filling their pockets before you left and then they'd catch you outside an early attempt at central air conditioning caught Mike's eye in 1934 an entire office moved into a huge refrigerator for a week during a summer heat wave a shopping trip with a pet pig was a natural Mike followed with his camera as the Pig went in and out of stores and stopped for a snack [Music] strikes weren't usually novelty material but Mike found an exception grade school students on strike protesting the firing of their teacher [Music] one of the most unique timely stories in my career was the blizzard in northern Michigan Munising Michigan it had appeared on radio and in the newspapers and I wired the news company to let me go make a make a picture and they suggested that I wait till it get closer well two of my friends talked me into going anyway that traveled considerable with me so we packed up and left Toledo at four o'clock in the afternoon we drove all night and made our way the next noon up and communism and up through the blizzard and in many instances we follow the snow plows and in many instances the snow was 40 feet high so when we got into Munising on location I asked the editor if he still wanted the story uh I wasn't sure whether I was the only cameraman there yet or not so he well I remember I said when I wired I said hello and I asked him for an assignment and he wired back and he says hello yourself Upper Michigan towns are marooned by the worst snowstorming year at municing they wear Smiles even though getting food to homes cut off by the drifts is a serious problem Crews dig through 20-foot drifts to get Aid to those who are isolated off the rooftops it's an unexpected holiday for the kids just an amateur blizzards could be more Savage shooting in 20 below zero winds in the Sandusky Bay Bridge Mike froze both of his ears and had to be hospitalized another Frozen Bridge gave Mike an unexpected opportunity for a novelty story it makes no difference how good a driver you are this is how you feel when you hit Highland Bridge freeze of winter the roads solid ice and the best way to drive over under these conditions is to walk but a few of the boys out of work make a little hay before the sun shines too hard and pick up some honest dollars helping the drivers get started the approaches are upgrade and the cars can't get any traction that's why it's such tough sledding the police will be here later to straighten things out but meantime there's plenty doing unexpected opportunities weren't always lighthearted stories New Year's Day there was a sheet of ice on the highway and my children were Outdoors playing and I could hear them hollering that there had been an accident so they come and told me that there was an accident across the street and I had just put away a hand camera cleaning and checking it so it was loaded and I took my hand Cameron I don't know why because I couldn't imagine an accident where the news wheel coverage so close to home but when I had gotten to the grocery store there was a car with three children pinned in the back seat the car had skidded up against a high fence and the door was against the fence and a high wire had fell utility pole they hit the utility pole the wire had broken fell on the other door and it was arcing excessive at the ground and uh I started taking pictures and to my right I saw a body and it seemed like his shoes were separated from his body and his hands were separated after I had shot the footage and got in closer it happened to be a neighbor who was was not aware of the high tension line and he thought that he could save the children and in so doing he grabbed this high tension line I wired the editor after I had exposed the film what I had and what I should do with it and I was ordered to ship it immediately that particular story never did appear in the newsreel several months later it appeared in Universal's Restless moments it was a subject that was contributed to the cameraman the Thrills of a cameraman foreign Rivers swollen by Falls and torrential rains the Ohio river floods of the late 30s were major news real stories for Mike gettinger the floods meant overnight drives through storms in high water getting around in flood areas was another major problem Mike once lost three finished rolls of film on his boat capsized the floods also meant extra money as a freelance man Mike wasn't obligated to shoot for just one company one year Pomeroy Ohio had was the only town that had seven blocks some words in water and as I remember the staff men all were waiting at Cincinnati for their pictures and I proceeded to Pomeroy after that was a picture in the paper and I did it freelance all the way I made five freelance stories for five newsreels after I had submit submitted the film I decided to um submit five expense accounts which I did and they were paid and there was nothing said I recall on the footage that I'd made for the 1936 floods for the four hours about that I put in I collected 640 dollars the labor strikes of the 30s were another subject that relied heavily on the freelance cameraman and they were the most dangerous to cover two people were killed during the strike at the electric auto light company in Toledo and Mike's job was to stay as close to the action as he could what you would run into with the Autolite strike so far as the cameraman were concerned would be the unexpected you never knew at all where there was going to be any trouble and where there was trouble there was always something flying in the air [Music] the Monroe steel strike was another example of you might could call it that's history does have a fit with bloodshed the things that uh was hazardous in the Monroe steel strike was gas bombs that were still pointed and when they would hit a person it would break the flesh not only was there hazards in the flying gas shells the vigilantes picked up the automobiles that were planted in the lane toward the factory and they turned them over and actually half of them they just pushed over in the River Raisin might cover the Monroe steel strike for passe but when his equipment broke down a fox movie tone man loaned him his backup camera Mike shot the story with a borrowed camera while the movie tone crew was forced into their soundtrack by tear gas [Music] strike Breakers are operating the plant of the federal pre-assorting company in Toledo while company police protects the property Mike once faced an unexpected problem with violence there was gunfire and shooting and it only happened it only happened a very short period of time and by the time I got an assigner to go out there was no violence at all and I had spent a number of days with the strikers and it was evident that uh I wasn't going to be able to get any violence so I asked the strikers if they would mind uh throwing rocks at each other are throwing something at each other they could hide behind a pile of ties and Bob up and throw they Faithfully did it but then that wasn't enough action to make an Israel story so I suggested maybe they could Chase each other well they agreed to do that willingly but they didn't agree on who would Chase who they worked the chasing bar part out and then they succeeded in giving me a good chasing scene then I had to remain until the end of the day at which time the stripe strike makers came in on a gondola they moved across the lot real slow and in this Gondola they had loaded a lot of ammunition things that they threw at each other and the strikers told me that's what they do and if I could get an elevated shot I could do I could get the picture well that would be enough to make a newsreel story staging all types of stories was common practice in the 30s with the company's approval they would encourage a cameraman to let's say manipulate or put things together to make a story something that would be funny they were always interested in something that had a laugh to it then again the picture material or the subject matter had to be uh quite unusual in nature because there's a lot of laughs that wouldn't be accepted nationally that might work good locally for example at one time I took a pair of skates three rockets and I found a man that would put the skates on and wear the Rockets the idea was just drafted out of just common thinking the problem would be to get somebody game enough to wear their to wear the skates and let them and wear and hold the Rockets thank you guys slaps on his rocket invention that is to upset the old technique of ice skating the Rockets filled with high explosives already and the prince gets away with a bang it takes more than snow to quench the fire of Genius no one carried any further you could you could Propel yourself on skates with rockets with Mark feature stories that involved animals was always a very good success with newsreels as well as magazine reels um and suddenly I thought of possibly having a cat and chickens put together on a on a hens nest so I took my equipment went out East Toledo Pickle Road and stopped at a farmhouse where there was a little girl and some children and when they told them what I'd like to have we built a nest in a barrel we set a full-size Barrel laid it over so the sun would shine on the end we took some stall and made a nest they gathered some eggs and it so happened that right at the time they had some little chicks that was about a week old an incubator and they had a pet cat so the cat was very tame we put the cat on the nest and the cat stayed on the nest and we put eggs on it and we built the eggs around the cat and then I grabbed a shot of the cat sitting there with the egg showing well now the eggs had the hats so we tried some chickens and the little girl went and got some chickens and they put the chicken on the egg I come to the point where I'd like to have the cat leave the nest and willingly come back on a nest so I asked for a piece of bacon and they got me a piece of bacon and they called the cat when the camera was running and it was lying real comfortable and the cat moved up and left and I didn't follow the cat with the camera the cat just ran out of the scene another point to get the cat back on its own so while the camera wasn't running that little girl held the cat while I took the bacon and smeared a little bit on an egg and then she stuck the cat in and the cat smelt the egg and wanted to get in there so I run to the camera quick and got the camera going she dropped the cat and the cat run right on the nest so we got to catch a return to the nest animals weren't always Cooperative Mike's wrestling match between a dog and a cat took dozens of shots to get enough fighting to edit into a story [Music] humans were easier to direct and Mike always had a new idea I passed the bathing or I passed a beauty salon one morning and I looked at an ad in the window and suddenly the idea occurred that how about putting men in the beauty salon instead of women it used to be the drivers would complain when women came into the shop and now the girls are getting evil sometimes they have to wait for hours until the men are all dialed up nothing sacred to the Fairfax anymore well strikes me bald-headed look at this now husband's excuse will be sorry I'm late I had to wait hours of the hairdresser the bulletproof cloth was of course that was unbelievable the bulletproof cloth consisted of nothing more than a white pair of coveralls using a low power air rifle and pretending to drill and saw the cloth Mike put together an outlandish story that was swallowed by an army officer who actually wrote for details on the cloth now if I were to ask how I happen to think of it I can't answer those thoughts just come automatically of the variety of Sharp Shooting newsreel stories that I managed to get out through the 30s I decided on using a all little girl around six years old and I decided to pick on my first cousin who at that time was living in Michigan and she had never had a gun in her hand at all [Applause] daddy Lou gibbinger a big shot even though she's only a little girl her abilities even more remarkable when you consider the terrific special behind a cannon like that and how she seemed to have solve the problem of recoil he picked it up twice by accident and she's not a bit spoiled by her new fame as a matter of fact she doesn't like it she'd rather play with her job than go shooting at it even the cameraman has a lot of confidence in her what he missed but just one after hours he's only five and she makes up for it he'll be a champ when she grows up sure his children Mike's 82 year old grandmother was another Sharpshooter according to Universal's description she vied in her early days in Texas with Calamity Jane and Annie Oakley the filming technique was the same a drop of oil was placed in her pistol to make it smoke and the light bulbs held by her grandchildren were shot by a rifle out of camera range [Music] the thought had come to me how could I really make a story on our high level Bridge Under Construction and a bridge is a bridge and there are very few bridges that would stand out nationally as being worthy of news a national newsreel release so this time passed I kept giving it thought how I could improve the value of a national release and show the bridge and put some unusual human interest and that's that's how I got the idea of using the course girls [Music] it was kind of hard for him to get any kind of Rhythm without any sound you know this picture makes me laugh I can't comment on it you should have showed me the picture first well today it would take a hell of a lot of nerve wouldn't it I don't think you could give the construction people to go along with you today let alone people on the stage see those were the years where everybody was flexible all right wow that uh that I did not expect the comments for that um how mad and irritated you guys some of you got about this um I love films like this because this actually gives you a sense of news reporting was always a little dodgy um certainly with newsreel stuff and you know when those uh those scenes pop out and they show these newsreel things especially the guy on the rocket on the ice skates I've always been like that's insane like what was that guy thinking well that guy was thinking uh along with the the cameraman this might look really interesting and hilarious um so yeah the a lot of times that stuff is brought out and what's interesting is that I mean besides the labor footage which that he faked some of that too um a lot of that was just human interest stuff it was just meant to like you know the war was going on and the depression's going on but here's something hilarious a bunch of chorus girls uh dancing on a bridge you know it's human interest so um I'm sorry that some of you were mad but uh it's it's fascinating and I'm happy that somebody did an oral history about this um and he might have made some of this stuff up too like even telling the story anecdotally he might have gotten stuff uh wrong uh anyways let's uh end it all with end it all with developing responsibility another Coronet film enjoy [Music] can you remember what it's like to be a baby [Music] thank you [Music] most everything is done for you when you're a baby as you get older you have to learn to do things for yourself and for others how do we learn to take on new responsibilities perhaps we can get some ideas from Margaret Wayne Jim and John Margaret's mother is late in getting home you think you could start dinner uh I don't know it won't be hard we have some chicken you can fry uh I've never Fried Chicken it's easy just coat it with some seasoned flour you've seen how Margaret is being asked to take on a new responsibility how do you think she feels simmer for about 45 minutes it's easy well I guess I can do it does it take courage to try something new what if she makes a mistake perhaps she can draw on responsibility she's handled in the past she's prepared parts of meals when her mother was with her sometimes she made mistakes but they were small ones and anyhow that was how she learned usually her mother was pleased with what she did so why shouldn't she succeed this time [Music] thank you [Music] oh I had the heat on too high well I've made mistakes before I'll just have to clean it up and start over how do you think Margaret is doing does she seem more confident now what about Wayne see Dad it's too small you're right can I get a new one well do you know what kind you want I get something like this only bigger what about color well something that goes with my pants and won't show the dirt good you can pick it out by yourself if you want to here I'll give you the money I don't think it'll be quite this much but you'll have enough no it's going out of Carl's or maybe Perkins or Stearns they've got some good buys there go wherever you wish get something you like if I pick something out you want to see it before I pay well it's up to you I think you can pick out a jacket on your own okay but how to go about it he's never picked out a jacket before can he draw on responsibilities he's handled in the past shouldn't be too hard not much different than deciding what to wear in the morning just need to get the right information that's all like how warm it is outside and what the weather's going to be like later then I know what kind of clothes to wear good decisions are based on getting the right kinds of information what kinds of information will Wayne need [Music] thank you style color fit price these are some of the things Wayne needs to consider [Music] do you think you'll make a good choice [Music] what about Jim how will he take on a new responsibility Jim how would you like to prepare an exhibit for the science fair uh well I'm not sure you seem to enjoy our unit on astronomy maybe you could do something on one of the planets or on Space research how do you suppose Jim feels well he decide to take on this new responsibility everything fairly simple something that you're interested in will anyone else be doing one yes Ken will be doing one and so will Marcy and David I know that you like science I thought maybe you'd like to do an exhibit too well okay guess I'll try it Jim has never made a complete exhibit before but he's done things like exhibits from past experience he knows how to work with care how to use different materials how to arrange things and how to plan his time perhaps these past experiences will help him take on this new responsibility planning starts with choice of a project let's see what can I do that'll look like something better check on the materials and I better figure out how much space I'm gonna have now how to fit it all together I've got to allow enough time don't want to do it all at the last minute do you think Jim will have a good exhibit can you see how taking on this assignment may help Jim take on more difficult responsibilities in the future suppose we look at Joan now and see how she feels about taking on a new responsibility someone new for treasurer like Joan yes Joe hasn't held in office I nominate Jones for treasurer treasurer can Joan take on this kind of responsibility Joe knows that she's had trouble saving money and keeping track of money should she agree to be treasurer I don't think I should be Treasurer I'm not very good with money I have trouble keeping track of my own then what about being secretary would you want to be secretary well Joan's not very good at looking after money but taking notes hmm yes well that I think I could do good that's out of the way yeah I think she'll make a good secretary what do you think of Jones decision would you have acted as she did or as Margaret did have the girls given you ideas for learning how to take on new responsibilities as adults do [Music] and what about Wayne's actions and gems have you learned anything from them on how people make use of past experience to take on new responsibilities can you remember some of the principles planning getting information practicing learning from mistakes [Music] what other ways are there for taking on new responsibilities as we grow up [Music] do you think that all educational films should be uh use harp as a background music instrument either that or an organ like a hip organist you know uh yeah man that was beautiful color as someone pointed out and that's part of the collection that we've been scanning from Coronet where we supposedly have 9 000 films and we've only scanned about 3 600 cans well and what I should say is 9000 films it's like 9000 film cans and so there's a lot of stop footage in there uh leftover outtakes things like that that we're going through like literally thousands of those um and only
