hello everybody this is Skip Alzheimer welcome to the AV Geeks lunchtime streaming show where we watch old 16 millimeter films and comment on them so our plans to um kind of launch into the Christmas break uh God stymied a little bit due to a cold front that is moving through North Carolina and uh is gonna raise some havoc in our travels so we're um we're gonna try to leave earlier uh than planned which means that we have to pre-record and this show and also had to postpone a plane um the AV Geeks board game that was given to us by The Homeschool kids um but we put together some films that are thematically um appropriate for a winter storm so enjoy over the town father winter has spread a thick white blanket of snow hard at work clearing the street but this boy is getting ready to play in the snow wraps and mittens and caps keep children warm and dry Bill Clark pulls a loose-fitting sweater over his Woolen shirt this will keep his body warm without bundling him up too much Bill's sister Nell and his brother Charlie put closely woven jackets over their sweaters they don't intend to let Jack Frost catch them nails overshoes and the boys ski boots will keep their feet warm and dry come on let's go look out oh no Here Charlie they're going to make a snowman and everybody must help Bill starts the ball for the bottom Nell the ball for the middle a little snowball like this grows into a big snowman the farther it rolls the larger it grows the Snowman will stand where the largest snowball stops how big the ball for the body has grown teamwork helps to make a good Snowman oh look out Charlie come and help us come in there it is now the Snowman needs a head and Charlie has it a head for the Snowman that's right Bill make his neck strong so the head won't fall off water Charlie and Nell looking for and what's Charlie going to do with that shiny tin can oh look Charlie Bill's made his nose oh what a nose I've got his buttons here's his hat bill is giving the Snowman a name his name is Wellington and what a fine snowman he is how do you do Mr Wellington another day another fine blanket of snow listen to the children they're getting ready to play Fox and geese Fox and geese to play that your first down a big ring and then you cut the ring as you'd cut a pie then you trap trap down the trails you cut the pie into two pieces less than the number of children playing come on the children on the outer ring are geese get on your nests where the Lions meet the ring now you were safe from the boy in the center he is the fox and he is it the extra child is a goose without a nest and the fox always tries to catch a goose off its nest the geese try to change places often they can only run on the beaten trails the fox tags Sally and Sally's it it's more fun if no one is the fox too long and no one will be if everyone in the game keeps moving thank you this is a good day for coasting crisp been clear and cold come on the hill has been marked with flags you Coast down one side and go back up on the other side of the flags Charlie wants to slide first he waits until the coast is clear before he starts down so he won't run into anyone he doesn't want to have an accident now Bill's going down and a girl but where's Nell what are you going to do with that dishpan now that's a different kind of a sled and here's another and another now everybody up the hill again at the top of the hill Charlie and Bill decide to Coast together they know the best way for two to ride and now they're off down they slide and so does now and when Charlie and Bill and Nell begin to feel cold they know it's time to start for home skiing today that's right Bill be sure your bindings are firmly fastened and you might help Charlie too we don't want any loose skis to spoil the fun foreign now let's see you walk remember to keep your skis straight and then you won't fall here's a little Hill the herringbone step keeps you from sliding backward as you climb a little Hill and now down comes bill and down comes now and Charlie comes down up again that's the boy what's this a steeper Hill sidestepping is the best way to climb a steep hill on skis bill goes over the top and down the other side he goes and then down goes now and Charlie goes down now Bill tries the snow plow can Charlie do that too Nice Work Charlie let's go over to the school slide oh look oh boy Ski Jumping is great fun beginners make little jumps with more practice boys and girls learn to make long graceful leaps flying through the air like birds skiing is perhaps the most thrilling way to enjoy the clear cold days of winter when the earth is buried under its glistening blanket of snow then it just ends I always forget those early um Encyclopedia Britannica films always just kind of end they don't have a play out music they don't have a recap um that's our favorite narrator James brill uh who knows a lot about what to do um in the snow this is a great film because it is basically how to enjoy a snow day um with some games that I've never heard of before and uh some activities it's uh it's pretty great uh so many of you um are north of us um and are probably dealing with some horrible winter weather and I'm certainly not wanting to make light of that but this next film is about winter storms and this is I believe this is civil defense or Noah did this as a government film about the dangers of winter weather enjoy [Music] at first it didn't seem like winter New England was enjoying a mild December and California was still baking in a two-year drought instead of snow it began with Wind and Fire the hot Desert Winds came blasting in belting everything with clogs of blowing dirt causing six deaths overturning trucks and trailers and starting fires at Brandenburg Air Force Base testing site for our missiles and the space shuttle launcher 400 men fight to the night to contain a raging brush fire that blackened 10 000 acres and when the night is over the bodies of the base commander and two civilian fire officials are found on one of the launch complexes where they've been trapped by the fire December passage the New Year opens and then they begin the winter storms [Music] a January storm hits Long Island near New York knocking down power lines trapping people in unheated homes for nearly five days emergency utility Crews come in from as far as Detroit and Chicago so does the Army set in by the president to help out in California the drought has broken with a bank in the East the first big snowstorm of 78. it dusts Washington lightly but drops 13 inches on Philadelphia leaves the New Jersey Turnpike strewn with trucks and cars for New York it's 18 inches the heaviest snowfall in nine years and in Boston it sets a local record 21 inches in 24 hours in Oswego New York they've had 16 feet of snow since winter began and the cars are flying Flags so others can see them coming around the Towering snow Banks Oswego is used to it the south is not Nashville is trying to plow out and in Louisville cars are clanking Along on glare ice one week buried in snow the next in Dallas and Fort Worth there's ice on the Spanish bayonet snowmen on The Lawns and no snow plowing equipment to meet an unexpected storm [Music] on the Great Northern Plains another blizzard is on its way it sweeps through Chicago with 80 mile gusts moves over Michigan Ohio Indiana knocking down power lines freezing traffic wherever it goes ain't no plows running out here west of Indianapolis an Amtrak train is stalled in snow drips for more than 12 hours before rescue teams can reach it [Music] in many places helicopters become the only way to move food and fuels list emergency medical patients to hospitals everywhere the headline spell bad news the worst winter anyone can remember the coal miner strike is nearing its 50th day heat has to be turned down electricity cut back 25 percent January has become an unending nightmare of spinning wheels skidding cars snow and ice meanwhile in sunny California it's been raining for a month ordinarily the Los Angeles River is a dry concrete trench now there's been a cloud burst in the Hollywood Hills the rain started coming down really hard I looked out my balcony window and I saw my car floating down the street the sliding glass door there's a big bay window back there and all of that mop and that that 40-foot tree the whole thing I was buried alive and I don't have a scratch on me thank you Lord streets are turned into rivers houses buried under Avalanches of mud take all your cars out because they might get buried mud mud right up to the doorknobs civil defense enlists hundreds of young volunteers to help shovel it out at Hidden Springs a resort area north of Los Angeles 28 people are missing and Searchers on Horseback are looking for bodies [Applause] [Music] 14 California counties are suffering heavy flood damage and almost 31 000 families will receive assistance through Federal centers set up under the president's Disaster Relief Fund for many the losses are catastrophic when the mudslide smashed into his house Bob Kaufman felt fortunate he'd managed to save his paralyzed wife but now I call the insurance company said so sorry that everything's excluded you have no coverage whatsoever so here's over a hundred thousand dollars and we're we're just about wiped out I don't know what I'll do I just don't know what I'll do but it's only the beginning and the rains will continue back East another storm is brewing it comes blowing North through Washington on to Philadelphia and Trenton it hits New York full force much harder than the storm just two weeks before all along the east coast the last planes are taking off trying to beat the storm [Music] in Boston the National Weather Service begins broadcasting warnings for all of Southern New England it looks like a real bomb we've got a ship report here of 50 knots Massachusetts civil defense this is a National Weather Service of Boston heavy snow warnings for Massachusetts this afternoon and tonight Framingham Massachusetts the state's Emergency Operating Center has already gone on full alertable drifting and blizzard conditions at times an accumulation of 8 to 16 inches will fall before the storm abates making Homeward Bound commuting very difficult by early afternoon the storm is sweeping into New England businesses begin letting their people out early but not early enough thousands will never make it home we're waiting for Ruckus for like two hours [Music] in Rhode Island's Emergency Operating Center problems are piling up as fast as the snow yes Governor Rocco the governor's call now and is asking for an estimate of the stranded vehicles on Interstate 95 what have you got up today over 3 000. that's quite a jump about 200 from the last count many drivers trapped in the snow will die in their cars tonight just don't go stay where you are stay home [Music] thank you Nightfall and the snow keeps falling New York streets are nearly deserted and along Broadway it shows suddenly are playing to empty houses people are holding up in railroad stations offices hotels bedding down on floors and cots finding shelters wherever they can what do you think of this terrible snowstorm we're having here I uh I'm jammed here for the rest of the duration in Hartford the police are collecting lost kids so it was too cold and I couldn't go walking so you stopped a policeman and asked for help a little a man to bring me here yes I'm thankful thank you very much let's get a happy ending yeah I'll be happy now Hartford Police missing persons there are missing husbands too and Kathy Canton of Portsmouth has one of them hi you'll never believe where I am oh my God where are you I have been so worried one worry is over right now but now a new one begins from the looks of it it's going to be real bad real bad and that's my main concern because I have to get up to Boston Friday because of Michael oh no no he's right here just playing a game he looks fine young Michael Canton suffers a rare disease a gamma globulin anemia Complicated by recurrent pancytopenia requiring regular transfusions of both red cells and platelets oh that's her nine yards and the only place with the special irradiator needed is Children's Hospital in Boston 60 snowbound miles away how are we going to be able to get them up there well I was just going to keep going and they're just locked inside there's traffic jams all over the place and I don't think anything's going to be moving in Boston it's literally a winter hurricane winds are still gusting at about 45 or 48 miles an hour the winds at this point are critical particularly to shore areas where they have another high tide coming at about 11 o'clock this evening the fees there are 20 to 30 feet in height winds are over 60 miles an hour maybe a part of Monaco at Revere a few miles north of Boston the town's Emergency Operating Center is located in the firehouse and the mayor and his aides are fighting mounting problems [Music] dolphin Avenue as soon as possible attention engine three and a ladder one we spawn the 45 dolphin now [Applause] [Music] desperately need amphibious equipment to evacuate hundreds of people to the broadside Avenue there was a state patrol this is operations please operation Larry yes flooding because how long have you been a coastline yeah okay there's uh Red Cross been notified up there at all I imagine they have at the moment send us over to operations we didn't have them uh check it out we got the NBC sending their duct Daisy over Revere eda's owe 200 hours your life Governor I think the thing that we should be stressing right now is that we've got to have the cooperation with the travel ban we've got to keep the People Robert Cunningham the Massachusetts Civil Defense director got about 3 000 things we've got to move there in Providence the Rhode Island director Sandy Yamato is facing the same sort of troubles yeah we've got loads of musculars I'm looking forward you've got to get it in here right away Rhode Island Connecticut and Massachusetts now are almost totally Paralyzed by the blizzard and the complete travel ban is ordered by all three governors J Joseph garrahy of Rhode Island period travel bans in effect in local communities must be observed schools businesses Industries Ella Grasso of Connecticut for emergency purposes will be closed and in the morning an assessment will be made ladies and gentlemen the weather situation that now exists in the Commonwealth is one of the worst in our history and for that reason I've ordered a state of emergency Michael Dukakis of Massachusetts the acts of 1950. as emphatically as I can possibly say it all people are to remain in their homes [Music] in Salem sound two ships are in trouble and a pilot boat sent to the rescue is going down with all hands on board [Music] morning along the Jersey Shore Bath House lies wrecked fishing vessel driven ashore in Massachusetts what we saw is awesome and I can't begin to describe the devastation that has been wrought by this storm on our Coastal communities one sees houses washed into the sea one sees homes tipping into the ocean in Revere firemen are pulling more people out of the water already nearly ten thousand have been evacuated from Winthrop situate home [Music] Providence lies buried under 28 inches of snow and it's still falling in much of New England here in Boston the storm of three weeks ago broke the record for the most snow ever a 24-hour period it was 21 inches now today we've had 24 inches in 24 hours simply incredible the three governors are forced to call for help uh this morning we sent to the president a request for the Declaration of a state of emergency I have also written to the president to notify him of our interest in applying for a presidential Declaration of a major disaster for Rhode Island again let me repeat this is a very serious emergency situation and all people are to remain in their homes in response the president promises Aid and snow removal equipment but airport runways will have to be cleared before the heavy cargo planes can land foreign emergency number of courses in the Massachusetts Emergency Center the emergency civil defense number is 237. we've got a huge backup there we've got to get some front end loaders in move the snow out before we can even open up any Access Road Mission John wants uh MPS because he's expect looting we're having a lot of the medical helicopter Ambulance Company to be on standby as soon as this weather clears they're going to get quite a few missions in Rhode Island the cantons are still snowed in No in fact Dr Wallace even commented that he would try to hire a private plane if he had to you got short oh Lord yeah it's terribly worried and he's stuck up there and there's nothing he can do he's just you know chewing his nails people are getting about as best they can by sled snowmobile Snowshoe or ski on the Connecticut Shore they're waiting do you believe [Applause] and in Hartford they're still shoveling 28 degrees that's minus two Celsius snow continues day three Sunshine at last and the people pour out to celebrate and I hope that the fact that the sun is shining and the blue skies are out there it doesn't deceive anybody we have a very serious emergency situation I know that some of you are suffering from Cabin Fever or getting a little stir crazy that's about the only thing I can suggest is that you go out and take a walk or shovel some more snow if you haven't had enough of that way you're getting out shovel it out [Music] it was bad night really the traffic was awful bad but in spite of that you manage to have a good time yeah sure we gotta live I just want to find some money and get to a clothing store so I can change my clothes I feel terrific because Thursday morning at 8 36 I'm going to be on a flight to Orlando with my kids to Disney World we play cars most of the night um One bowling and if my boss is looking I did a little work come on well okay I play cards and went bowling all night in Providence they're facing the world's worst traffic jam sure the storm is over and today was a bright sunny day but the roads are still in terrible condition people are still getting stuck and the plows as a result are having a hard time returning things to normal serious problems serious problems there must be four or five thousand people walking around cars trucks all over the place it's unbelievable and I'll tell you we've all had it I'm all down on pills now I get high blood pressure with Donna pills Nobody's around here people's got their cars all stocked up they won't even get down here to help us open them up so we can get out it's unbelievable the tangle of cars make snow removal an impossible job and it's had other costs a hundred new englanders have died in the blizzard nearly half in their cars trying to drive through the storm in spite of warnings medical evacuation cases are creating another traffic jam now look you stay right there we're going to try and get a snowmobile on a shopping so you just as soon as we possibly can with Fair Skies the Rescue helicopters can fly at last both the Rhode Island and Massachusetts National Guards begin flying hundreds of Mercy missions airlifting in food and fuel evacuating emergency cases and now the airport runways can be cleared yes commissioner we need to divert as many of your wing blade snow plows from the Mass Turnpike as you can possibly spare to go into Logan Airport to clear the runways yes we expect the Air Force to be ends in four hours with heavy snow fighting equipment and Personnel on board along the Massachusetts Shore concrete sea walls have been tossed about like children's blocks one man escaped the high waves only by crawling up into his attic it seemed like everything was going to collapse but it didn't I mean it parts of it picked up but it's still standing why are you still here where can we go I mean a lot of somebody else I mean we're still uh surviving this okay the federal government has opened One-Stop Disaster Assistance centers to bring Aid in many forms to the thousands of victims home farm and small business loans food stamps shelter crisis counseling trailers and other emergency housing okay could you give me directions how to get to the house go down and look for all the wreckage and you're there Connecticut has managed to clear its major roads Massachusetts is gaining but Rhode Island's caught it worst of all the snowfall there has reached 54 inches in some spots and the situation still desperate I am standing on Route 195 but on the Massachusetts side of the state line as you can see behind me that's Rhode Island and it doesn't take much to tell where the state line is right where the bear pavement ends and the snow Begins for young Michael Kenton time's running out well they did a level on them there's no doubt about it I've got to go up Friday but I don't know I'm gonna go well I can't drive there's no way push down on my floor well it's got to be Boston it's the only place around that can do it yes the whole face all I can do is wait yeah I mean there's no sense in getting tutua upset something's got to happen nine yards yeah somehow some way it'll work because it has to be nothing to make it okay at last a call from the governor's office I just want to know one thing is this an emergency yes would you classify it as a matter of life and death yes I would all right then hang up and you'll be contacted by someone from the national God all right thank you whoa 50 yards next to General Leonard Holland National Guard all right Governor we will have a helicopter on its way to Newport to pick up the Canton boy in the ready room at Quonset points report to Boston I'll give you further instructions in the air foreign [Music] on Friday captains told Keenan and their crew come in for a landing at Newport to pick up Kathy Canton Michael and a friend Noreen shrake who's volunteered to be the second Blood Donor needed for Michael's transfusions foreign The Blood Donor Center at Children's Hospital and we landed in Fenway Park and there wasn't even a ball game [Music] pump The Blood Out extract the platelets put the blood back in and start over again repeat the process four times both Kathy Canton and Mrs shriek will be on the blood donors couches for eight long hours before there'll be enough red cells and platelets for Michael waiting in the emergency room downstairs okay Mike you ready one two three okay it's 9 30 at night before the weary business is finished and Michael is free to go home Michael how did you like your helicopter ride I liked it was the first time I was on in my life what did you like about it tell me about it okay in the air it looks neat for Michael the crisis is over but not for others like Governor Gary and we're making a uh a particular effort tonight to ensure that fuel is moved throughout the state of Rhode Island [Applause] others feel the same way what do you think of all that oh and I hate snow I hate it all this snow it's a lot of trouble oh I enjoy it I think it's great it's like it's winter that's the way it's supposed to be in New England we should have a reasonable amount of snow but not too much to prevent us from going about our daily chores have we got too much now uh I I'm afraid that the Lord has given us much too much even spring won't put an end to disaster there'll be another ice storm in Illinois I'd say right now uh probably uh 250 300 000 people that are totally without power in Chicago skyscrapers shedding ice and people ducking for cover down heavy in California the rains will continue and the drought information centers will be renamed Flood information centers in Phoenix houses will be floating away in the Arizona desert and there'll be more flooding in Kentucky West Virginia New Orleans winter it happens every year not always like this but one sure thing is come winter disaster will strike in many places many ways people will suffer and some will die because they didn't take the needed precautions for winter survival didn't lay in emergency supplies or insisted on driving instead of listening just stay where you are stay home you make it ASAP automatically the gear was full of heroic rescue and Recovery efforts by thousands of state and local emergency workers both volunteer and professional before 1978 was out the president would declare 39 major disasters and emergencies the federal government would contribute nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars to Emergency Management and recovery and nearly 90 000 families would qualify for federal Disaster Assistance [Music] recovery will be slow for months they'll be rebuilding homes dams Bridges sea walls and the bulldozers still will be scraping up the tons of clam shells tossed up by the winter storm it was a year of blizzard and fire of flood and mud misery hardship death the winter that came in like a lamb that went roaring out like a lion [Music] foreign [Music] it's possible I've shown that film before um because some of the the scenes sound familiar to me um I would like to think that we are better prepared for winter storms but I don't think we are I think that we forget and I think that some of the things that safeguards are put into place get rolled back so North Carolina specifically Raleigh is horrible in winter storm situations I remember uh the last really big one that we had where cars were on the side of the road uh cars would overheat and Catch Fire I remember being stuck in had to drive less than half a mile but it took 30 minutes to get because um everybody was going so slow um and I remember at one point somebody got out of the truck ahead of us and they were just wearing sweatpants I was like I can't believe this this is like it's 20 degrees outside like what if they wrecked like they just got sweatpants on so anyways all right so last film uh and this film is a excuse me it's a film that uh I haven't shown yet uh but it is made by Sid Davis Sid Davis made these amazing films uh that were uh some people call him the king of Mayhem but essentially he kind of Delights in showing kids in peril um there's a couple of films that just show kids getting hurt it's all fake but it's it's still kinda weird and some people are like well the Sid Davis just not like kids um he even has his own daughter like showing the scene where she falls on scissors uh running to greet her dad at the door um just weird so anyways this next film he produced um I don't think he actually wrote it but it proves 100 that he hates kids this is uh Santa and this is in in also in conjunction with Christmas that's coming up this is Santa and uh the fairies the fairy snow queen or the Snow Fairy yes Santa and the Snow Fairy I'm sorry enjoy [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] my name's Snoopy Santa Claus calls me Snoopy because oh no I work for Santa Claus I used to make toys like all the other little guns but that was when I was much younger now Santa has a special job for me did you ever hear the door closed and you look around and there's many body there and the shirt goes and there isn't any wind Amazon then you say is that is that well it isn't your daddy doesn't know your mommy neither it's me me I'm the Little Brownie that goes around to all the children's houses to see if they've been good little boys and girls yes sir I know all about you little boys and girls I know the ones that ate their breakfast and those who put away their toys which brings me to the reason why Santa sent me here to talk to you and what I see and from what we hear way up in Toyland a lot of the toys that Santa and his brownies have worked so hard to make broken and lost and left out in the rain you see I have another job too all of the toys that are broken and forgotten Santa has me pick up in a big basket and taste the land of lost and forgotten toy well none of the toys want to go there as you can surely imagine so I thought that if I came here and told you how the ferry Snow Queen first gave to his life but then he would appreciate them more and take better care of them Thomas first learned to talk a long time we're going toilet happened on Christmas Eve Once Upon a Time Zara and his brownies had just finished making all the toys for Christmas and Santa was getting ready to take them to all the good little boys and girls sir every Christmas eve Santa has a cup of tea with an old friend because a cup of tea give Santa just the right center for his long fast Journey [Music] now on this certain Christmas Eve that I am telling you about Santa had asked the fairy Snow Queen oh dear very Snow Queen so Santa won't you come have a sugar cookie and a cup of hot tea with me a cup of hot tea cried very Snow Queen and horror first no I would melt away [Music] oh I see but I will come and have a sugar cookie with you it's much nicer than tea and that's exactly what she did but now they have been working so hard with his brownies to get all the toys ready for Christmas because you forgot all about the sugar cookie and before the furry Snow Queen came Santa fell asleep with all his toys at his feet foreign had only been asleep for one minute when the door opened and there was a fairy snow queen dancing in the snow she was the most beautiful fairy of all but I'll tell you a little secret she loves to play jokes [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] I bet that or sugar cookie isn't even up there fine thing for him to do besides my different fun oh well [Music] oh dear [Music] um but I'm just there is no clean and I ought not to be treated like this to teach Santa lesson something like a good joke oh no besides it will give me something to do and there's certainly know how many times did a joke see what I could do oh what a funny looking little dog I wonder how it would be if of course I grant all these toys life this will be a wonderful joke oh besides it might be fun [Music] [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] what's going on here I can eat candy I can see I can dance I can walk I can walk to Santa I can mark look at us look at us look at us Hello Panda you were asleep when I came for my sugar cookie so I thought I would play a joke on you and grab all the toys life aren't they wonderful oh they certainly are hmm listen someone's humming why it's a musical down just think for us [Music] singing I'm singing look at me Santa I can sing too [Music] [Music] let's all try and sing together while Starlight fills the sky [Music] thank you [Music] again [Music] foreign [Music] oh that was fine musical doll now very Snow Queen you'd better change the toys back so I can put them in my sack oh not yet Santa let me show you how I can March [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] just like a real Soldier aren't I Santa yes I've never seen better now furry Snow Queen watch me watch me watch me quickly fairy Snow Queen change him back or you will break himself sure oh don't worry Santa Jack you stay in your box can't stop can't stop can't stop [Music] thank you [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] before something terrible happens to them they may get hurt fall in love all right tender oh but they're having such fun when you must promise me first that you won't fall asleep the next time you ask me to come and have a sugar cookie yes I promise you I will not fall asleep again but please change the toys back to toys before they break themselves all right Santa toy toy I said be as you were [Music] what's the matter fairy Snow Queen why do not the toys change look they're still the same is this another one of your jokes a joke a joke a joke no I'm not joking now Santa I don't know what the matter is everything seems connected but you must change them back [Music] [Applause] why why are you crying [Music] you can't change them back but why bury Snow Queen why well Santa the queen of this series told me that if I didn't stop playing jokes she would take away all of my magic power for 400 Christmases I have played a joke on you Santa and now I've lost my magic oh dear oh that's true too bad furry Snow Queen but what shall I do I have no toys to give the children for Christmas I know we don't want to be just toys we don't want to we don't want to we don't want to gonna want to be just toys just toys just toys just toys that's it that's why my magic wouldn't work you see Santa as if there is no Queen my paws are limited I can only change things that want to be changed the toys wanted to be made alive but they do not want to be turned back to toys again oh you should have thought of that before you changed them I know I shouldn't turned up I'm very sorry and I will never play jokes on anyone again but what should I do it's time that I started already well maybe if I talk to them not toys you've all had a chance to see how it is to be alive you've had your farm please let me change you back please I want to sing all the time I want to March all the time we run and stay alive I want to eat candy and cookies sugar cookies sugar cookie sugar cookie but I promised the little children I would bring them toys that's what you were made for to bring happiness to little boys and girls you are made for living would you have all the little children in the world crying on Christmas would you know then let the very Snow Queen change you back It's Not Easy Being Alive why you're so tiny would you get along with no little boy or girl to look after you what will become of you a toy soldier you can only March now but if you belong to some little boy he would put you with a lot of other soldiers he would really why he might even send you to war a real war honest sure a little boy's war and you dolls why you could go to tea parties and be well taken care of but alone in the Big World you will all soon get lost and broken your arms and legs will fall off and it will be very sad I'll tell my brownies torn hits the Christmas sled there will not be any toys tomorrow Christmas morning which is usually the happiest day of the year will now be known as the saddest no toys my my well Santa may I make a suggestion oh of course well how would it be to let all the tourists come to life for one hour every night at 12 o'clock then they put one of your brownies to go around and ask the toys if the little girl or boy they belong to left be nice to them it would be a wonderful way to check up on the little boys or girls and besides it might be fun oh boy that's a fine idea there is no Queen would you agree to that toys a conference a conference a conference foreign you my little brownie will Hereafter be called Snoopy that will be your job to check up on the dolls and record their complaints no very Snow Queen not toys please go back to the position you were in when I first granted your life [Music] why are you crying oh dear [Music] I was afraid of this with whom are you in love musical doll [Music] of you I'm in love with a musical doll too very Snow Queen what should we do well the toys cannot be changed and there's a musical doll and the toy soldier agreed to be happy oh dear I'll be late this Christmas sure we agree to be changed Sandra we wouldn't want to make all the little children unhappy but before we do one last hug last song One Last Kiss Santa Last Kiss Last Kiss last kiss you see toys it's not easy being alive yes are you both ready now one last thing Santa oh hurry toy soldier let me give you my gold medal as a token of our love and Hereafter all musical dolls will wear gold pins in remembrance of the two toys who fell in love how nice how sweet and Valkyrie Snow Queen I believe we're ready now may all the toys be as Hannah made you with the ability to come to life for one hour every night at 12 o'clock oh thank you very Snow Queen good night Santa it was fun [Music] dear dear oh [Music] um come on Snoopy there's no time to lose let's put the toys in the sack this is Christmas Eve yesterday and a good night to you and a merry Christmas too [Music] wow um I've seen this film many times as I've shown it uh many times not online but um other places when I've done um schlocky or cheesy Christmas things and uh the toys might get hurt or fall in love it's just I think some of the worst films ever made for children are Christmas films um ones that come to mind uh Santa Claus and the ice cream bunny um Magic Christmas tree uh and just scores of other ones where it's like we'll just take these rough ideas smoosh them together and we'll have some sort of Santa Claus thing related to it it's just really really bad um anyways thanks for tuning in I'm sorry we were pre-recorded today but we have we're rushing to see our family trying to avoid all the bad traffic and ice Etc um but we hope that you enjoyed it nonetheless and if you like what you saw or even if you were intrigued by it you don't necessarily have to like it you know hit the thumbs up button or the like button uh you can also subscribe um you can also buy his coffee I I'm out of coffee I don't have any right now oh yeah I have a little bit uh you can go to KO Dash fi.com AV Geeks you can also support us by going to patreon.com avgeeks and if you want to keep watching stuff you can go to our avgeeks.com page and there's a 24 7 Channel there that's streaming previous shows and other things that we've digitized and uh yeah but you have a good Christmas or time off if you don't celebrate Christmas um and we'll be back on Monday although it'll probably be pre-recorded as well because we'll be traveling again um Boxing Day Everybody Take Care much very much cherish your gift of paying attention to the horrible films that I've shown so thank you for that wonderful gift and
