this counseling I'm sure that your counselor the one you saw on 11 basis before this has told you that you're coming to this group counseling to help prepare you to go into your job training program and we will we will be meeting five days a week from nine to eleven for two weeks and in order to get started I have written some questions on the blackboard and I like reach of you to answer them the first question is what kind of job training program are you going into and the second one I like reading the answer is what kind of job do you want and the third one is what kind of work experience have you had in the past so I'm going to start with jewel I'm going to clerical training because I want to get a good secretary job and I'm here some previous work experience it's in pretty bad secretarial job okay Calvin what about you I want to work a playground recreation director work with kids there is it well the job training program that you're going into will prepare you for this type of work you need a license to you to this and have you worked with children before I worked as a camp counselor it's tough okay very good Robert what about you oh I want you to go in to cook or auto mechanic training I just I can't decide yet you know about which one I want to go into is it and I used to work at lombardi's as a busboy break did you have a question no I just wanted to feel scanning bill mix you know you swore down there so not a big thing you said that uh you want to go into auto mechanic or into a cooking program and that you had some experiences before um okay I guess that's enough for now Veronica what about you um well I'm going to be a waitress and I'm going into the food service program have you had jobs before not never had John okay that's fine too wide well I came down there mainly you know check out what yall know which I had I heard somebody say you know that there's a lot of bad program on us all under see what's here you know I've had a job working as a bus boy you know and washing tires or something like this but it's a waste of my time okay thank you offering answering and I think we dig it off into a good start I'm going to ask for some more information we need the information because well we just meant for the first time today we don't really know each other and in order to make this group work we're going to have to talk and become acquainted with each other so what I'm going to ask of each of you is to just tell something about your past jump something that you like maybe something you didn't like so Calvin I think I'll start with you well I really could do Griffin the kids that was fun was it a good time anything else you're cared to us mine like bosses around I always that stopped me having a good time tell me what to doing let me do what I want okay that's fine Veronica um what I bet each of you to tell us something about your past jobs but you said before you didn't have any job so maybe you could tell us something about your school I mean high school no I didn't finish mm I like the kids a lot but I didn't get along with the teachers very well okay that's fine Robert like I told you before I was a busboy you know but not really a busboy like so like a handyman because if if certain people didn't come in to work and I have to take that place for example like a if the person sure what about you well I've asked you to tell us something about your past job experiences maybe you could tell us something that you like the bottom or didn't like which is anything in general one is coming to me if you don't mind I ask you a question yeah what am i doing in this room yard I know which training program I want to go into and I've been through all schooling I have my diploma what am I wasting time is good why can't I start it's a good question can anybody answer it not on load answer but I didn't feel that same way to anyone else my casa said I could learn more about job training in my house to tell me I had to be here I'm here all right it is required and it's required because well for one thing we have had a very high dropout rate in job training programs and short while ago mdta decided that they would start group sessions before students went into the job training program and it has been very successful the dropout rate has decreased very rapidly didn't you know anyone in MDT a training program I did did she finish it it was a he you know he didn't did he go there group counseling like this I don't know it's my opinion that if he had gone to a group counseling such as this he was stood a very good chance of finishing his job training program and then going into a job that he liked didn't answer your question do I tin jewel yeah okay then could you tell us more about the past job experiences well I had a couple of jobs then stay on too long but think you know they were okay work was ok the bosses and particularly care for them peering over my shoulder
