Description: Surveys the size, composition, and location of asteroids, comets, and meteorites and the means used to investigate them. The discovery of asteroids in 1801 by Piazzi, their place in the solar system, and their variations in size and shape are recounted. Halley's study of comets, the nature of the composition of comets, and the size of their orbit are highlighted. Meteorites are discussed as remnants of comets; and the use of radar and photography in counting them along with the variations in their sizes is indicated.
