Here you will see the ancestral homes of great Indian tribes. As you move through their history, you will discover their remarkable symbols like the Kacina doll. And you will catch a glimpse of life as it is lived today by the descendants of the people who were long, long ago the original Americans. [Music] If you have the time, you can even leave the earth behind and learn to fly like a bird. A bird on rainbow wings. [Music] [Applause] But it is down the great river, the mighty Colorado, that Arizona's greatest adventure awaits you. It has been said of the Grand Canyon, it is smooth and jagged, violent and gentle, somber and humorous, friendly and hostile. It is all things in one place. And the story of the earth itself is told in the rocks that rise one mile high on either side of your thunderous path. Heat. Heat. [Music] And at the end of each day, you will find yourself gazing up into the sky at one of the most theatrical moments in nature. A young hopy Indian girl wrote, "Amid the clouds, colors blaze red, orange, pink, yellow, reaching out to engulf the once blue sky. Mountains echo the call of birds flying home. The air is cooled and stilled. This silent symphony pauses in time, filling the eyes, the soul with my expression of revery. Slowly, gently, these colors give way to the moon and the stars.
