An Industrial lake port

Description: Episode of Series “Earth and it’s peoples”. The film opens in a lighthouse on the Great Lakes where a sailor from the United States Coast Guard is entertaining a grup of visiting Sea Scouts on a tour of the region. Discusses the various industries that take place on the Great Lakes and how in winter when the lakes freeze over, the crews on the cargo ships must work on ocean-going vessels for part of the year when the lakes are not navigable.
