Records the various phases of discontinuous explosive and effusive volcanic activity on Surtsey during its active development from November 1963 until June 1967. Includes documented phenomena, such as lava fountaining, lava lake evolution, tephra formation and deposition, different forms of flowing lava such as pahoehoe and aa, and volcanically induced meteorological occurrences such as lightning and tornadoes.
