American Experience: Religious Diversity

When the early Spanish explorers came to America in search of wealth and new lands, they found a people with a new and deeply entrenched religion. Later, settlers of America, some coming in search of religious freedom, brought even more religious diversity to a free country. The result is that more than 300 religions are practiced in America today, each with a unique origin and each contributing in a special way to richness of American society.
