Description: In his first feature-length work, Czech animator Jan Švankmajer pays tribute to Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. True to Carroll's sense of the absurd, the film also reflects the director's surrealist style and combines live action and animation techniques. My Alice, Švankmajer says, is an interpretation of Carroll's fermented by my own childhood with all its particular obsessions and anxieties. Alice experiences many adventures in a labyrinthine wonderland populated by sinister puppets, animals, insects, toys and inanimate objects. (Circulates)
