Description: Examines the complex of motives, problems and consequences entailed when planning to extend a hot, 140 degrees Farenheit pipeline over Alaska's permafrost tundra in a nearly direct line from Prudhoe Bay to Anchorage. Points out that fuel oil is desperately needed to relieve the current energy crisis, that people need to drive but automobiles lack a necessity, oil, and that Alaska is the best source of that necessity for the U S at this time.
