Description: "Action at Dog Island" is a dramatized version of a typical Royal Navy anti-drug operation. The Royal Navy (in the frigate HMS Londonderry) run across a drug operation on a remote Caribbean island and go in with all guns blazing. The film was made in 1972 and features Clifford Earl and Ray Lonnen. HMS Londonderry was a Rothesay or Type 12 class anti-submarine frigate of the British Royal Navy in service from 1960 to 1984. Opening: two men look out, they're on an anti-submarine frigate HMS Londonderry. Credits: Action at Dog Island (:10-:32). A radar screen. The two men, part of the Londonderry crew, look over the screen. Men talk in the barracks of the ship. One of the men climbs up into his bunk. Two officers talk to a Captain. The ship sails on. The men use binoculars to look at another ship. They signal the strange vessel with a light. There doesn't appear to be anyone onboard the ship (:33-4:12). Binoculars assist the men's view. The men who were resting all get up and start getting dressed. The name JUDAS is on the side of the ship. The men go over and start climbing up the side of the ghost ship. They look inside and shine a flashlight onto different parts of the ship, they find nothing. An officer shines inside someone's quarters, they cannot find any people just items. Others shine their lights in different areas of the ship. They look in cabinets and a man starts to cough. He climbs the stairs with his flashlight. Tipped over barrels are shined on. Men look down and try to figure out what the white powder is they have found. An officer radios another his findings so far. A rope lowers, a small rescue boat goes back into the sea (4:13-9:02). A man continues to cough in one of the tiny boats. Back on the ship, the ship's doctor checks the coughing man, who has stopped. The doctor confers with another officer. Aerial shot of the battleship as it tows the ghost ship. A Navy helicopter takes off from the ship (9:03-11:00). The ship drops is anchor. The helicopter flies onwards towards an island. The helicopter lands and one of the crewmen goes over to Judas' lifeboat that's on shore and it is abandoned. He goes back to the helicopter. Navy men walk through a seaside town, look at the merchants wares (11:01-12:46). A man suntans himself while sitting with two others while they watch the Judas. Navy men sit with some women and drink. A man sits nearby acting suspicious. Back on the ship, the ship's doctor talks to a man in the sickbay. The doctor confers with the captain (12:47-16:24). Two officers sit in the dark. Two men radio the captain and tell him that the ship Judas has disappeared. Officers party and then leave when others come to get them, it's time to get back to the ship. Navy men pile into another car and leave. One of the last guys grabs a bike from a local and is chased. A helicopter's blades start up, the chopper goes into the air. Aerial shot of the battleship (16:25-19:09). The ship receives a message which is brought to the captain. The helicopter flies. It lands on the ship and one of the crewmen gives the captain message. The ship is steered towards the direction they think the Judas has gone to. An alert tells the men to get ready. The men grab vests, helmets, and rifles. Two men who had been watching the ship are being held prisoner, they have their wrists tied with rope. They see the battleship and spring into action. One of the guys unties himself and attacks the enemy soldier, who has a gun, by punching him. The two men leave (19:10-22:48). Men in hazmat suits walk on the island and are spied by the navy soldiers. The men enter a laboratory. The navy soldiers are fired upon in a raft. They hit the beach and start running and firing their weapons. Shots and gunfire light up the sand. Another boat of soldiers hits the beach. Machine guns are fired at the soldiers. People are shot (22:49-25:26). The soldiers head for the laboratory. They make the men in hazmat suits put up their hands and then pat them down. Two men run for a helicopter and take off as troops watch. They shoot the chopper and it lands, the troops point their guns at the bad guys. The captain confers with the troops on the island (25:27-27:57). A man puts his helmet on. The navy men fool around in the hull.
