so do hi everybody i'm skip alzheimer welcome to the av geeks lunchtime streaming show um so we watch old 16 millimeter films and we just saw a film called crossing the pacific and what's interesting is so i i've transferred a lot of home movies from the 30s 40s uh where uh it's basically a trip to europe and so everybody uh you know gets on the ship and then there's just footage of what's going on on the ship the activities of the ship because you were on the ship for a while i don't know uh weeks days not months probably but uh there was a lot of time so they had a lot of activities that they came up with um to do in the meantime and so um you got to see some of these excuse me activities uh pretty great uh so [Music] let's uh let's learn about the shock shock troops of disaster enjoy [Music] so [Music] all the signals of the sea none turned the faces of hardy sailors more grim than the flags that spell hurricane warning one morning late in september 1938 the tread signals swung aloft along the florida coast up from the west indies cradle of hurricanes moved the terror a pit of low atmospheric pressure into which the air rushed from all directions to form a whirling shrieking vortex of high wind and heavy rain hurricane the coast guard watched it warily as it moved northward paralleling the coast that night it was off the carolinas next morning it was off maryland and delaware apparently swinging harmlessly out into the atlantic but a high-pressure area at sea deflected the hurricane back toward land september 21st in mid-afternoon this tropical terror struck swept over outer long island swept into thickly settled highly developed new england struck with winds roaring 100 150 almost 200 miles an hour tidal waves 30 to 40 feet high struck a section unprepared [Music] the great wind-driven waves swallowed the sandy bulwarks of the coast washed away the pleasant beaches of long island southern shore literally changed the coastline bridges joining islands to the mainland were destroyed almost instantly men risked almost certain death trying to swim to their isolated homes and the coast guard restrained them when it could swirling rivers rose to levels rivaling the disastrous floods of 1936 increasing the difficulty of removing refugees and of carrying food and health into the stricken areas the great dam at holyoke was a cascade of thundering water as the tarrant poured over its crest hartford was one of several cities along the banks of the connecticut river to be partially inundated by rising waters an immediate result of the storm was the complete disruption of transportation bridges were washed out roads were blocked beneath the water in this low-lying underpass on an automobile and the bodies of its two occupants who were trapped how to get necessary food and medical supplies into the storm zone became a major question but local relief agencies went into action at once and the task of rescue began nabor hurried to assist neighbor private citizens volunteered to aid police civic agencies and the red cross all available boats were drafted into service family after family was rescued when rising waters threatened their brief security through to their tradition of alien service the coast guard met the emergency with swift action from the coastal islands some of which were completely swept by gigantic waves coast guard boats brought survivors to safety further inland armies of workers from private relief agencies from nearby wpa and nya projects from ccc camps as well as men recruited from every branch of the military and naval services erected sandbag barriers to halt the rising waters [Music] these temporary expedients but elsewhere the rivers were held in check by flood control projects completed by the wpa since the great flood of 1936. on the nashua river at pittsburgh and on the connecticut river at west springfield these new structures prove their value beyond question [Music] in three days an army of 110 000 wpa workers had been shifted to emergency storm and flood duty every little man with a pick on this map represents 1 000 workers of the wpa manpower turning from regular public improvements and services into the breach in time of dire need where tracks remain to carry trains thousands of these workers came by rail shark troops of disaster someone has called them because so many times in recent years they have provided the human signals for great tasks of reconstruction at the work of salvage began sailors from navy yards and soldiers from army posts aided civilian police in maintaining order part of the army of wpa men worked feverishly helping to locate those traps are lying dead beneath fallen debris one man was found alive under eight feet of wreckage 40 hours after the storm had passed as new england rallied to the worst disaster of its history wpa administrator harry hopkins flew from california to providence he owned the transportation in the stricken area he made a quick tour of the ravaged area to plan with new england leaders the task of cleaning up as well as the six-month job of rebuilding public facilities administrator hopkins met with the governors of the storm-torn states pledging the help of the federal government women workers of the wpa along with the red cross provided comfort for thousands of refugees at chicopee massachusetts in an infirmary also built by relief workers they cared for families left homeless by the storm and provided nourishing meals for children whose own homes had not yet been made habitable [Music] sewing rooms like this one prepared warm dry clothes for all the needy every emergency unit local and federal swung into action to distribute food to the hungry trucks were commandeered to deliver food clothing and surplus commodities to the entire population in the hurricane district food centers throughout the stricken area supplied families with provisions which could not be obtained elsewhere convenience centers were set up for the distribution of clothes donated by the red cross and those made in the wpa sewing rooms many of these badly needed garments were shipped from the sewing rooms of neighboring states outside of the hurricane district warm clothing helped to check the danger of serious illness stubbornly the ghastly wreckage of the storm gave way and the realization came that it would not be days but months before normal life could be resumed women clung pathetically to their household treasures men did the heavier work and tried to save what they could in many towns like this one in rhode island tons of mud and sand washed over the main highways all of this had to be cleared away before the paralyzed villages could make any headway toward recovery food for these workers was a major task in itself every truck not otherwise employed was pressed into service and loaded with food for consignment to various emergency projects these groups of men working shoulder-to-shoulder were gathered from every sort of work project and they stopped their grueling labor only long enough to refuel their systems with sandwiches and coffee but mann needed the help of machinery in his task huge sections of broken homes roofs whole wings porches were dragged to open fields to be burned these were the well-built homes of peaceful new england destroyed by the awesome power of a tropical [Music] hurricane every saw in the storm area a bit deeply into fallen giants that had been a feature of the beauty of new england here youthful nya and ccc workers vied with older men trees were down everywhere across streets on telephone and telegraph wires on houses and new england could not get going again until they were cleared away rivers had roared over their banks in whirling fury during the storm and now tractors and cranes attempted to guide the streams back into their natural channels along the mohawk trail in massachusetts whole sections of roadbed were washed into the streams below workers piled hundreds of tons of dirt into trucks and filled in the danger spots all over new england were thousands of emergency repairs to be made public facilities which must be restored for a resumption of normal living by all the people a job for manpower a job once more for the wpa's shocked troops of disaster new england saw them in 1936 fighting flood just as the people along the ohio river and the mississippi saw them in 1937. the call may come from a great drought on the plains or a raging fire in the timberlands wherever there is trouble on a heroic scale there you will find this peaceful army recruited from the ranks of the unemployed working hard and well with the other agencies of mercy [Music] uh yeah i love it you know i love that that that kind of newsreel banter [Laughter] um and uh yeah hurricanes man through the real deal here in north carolina um so and you know that was a wpa film so government uh film uh during the depression to find jobs for people um because the economy had crashed and there was a lot of really great stuff done during wpa i think the infrastructure for the united states was really done with wpa labor but that's because i'm a socialist so there we go get off my soapbox um let's read some maps enjoy [Music] [Applause] [Music] whether we're taking a trip for pleasure or driving a truck if we want to go places we have to know how to read the signs along the road signs warning of crossroads ahead signs for curves [Applause] [Music] [Applause] signs telling where the roads go all these signs stand for real things they're a kind of sign language that tell us what to do on the road but suppose we want to know something more for instance to find out what road to take an unfamiliar country for this we have to look at a map a map is a drawing that tells a story in sign language how do we read the sign language of maps well let's find out what george knows about maps he's learned that maps are a very useful way of telling a story for instance when someone asks george how to get from here to the post office downtown george can tell him in words but he may not understand so george tells him how to get to the post office by drawing a map of the route george imagines he's looking at a photograph of the town taken from an airplane this picture shows the whole route to the post office here is george's house here is the post office here is the church where you turn this is the route to follow take away the photograph and you have a picture that shows the whole route from george's house to the post office this is a map now of course you could tell a great deal more about the town if you drew in more signs you could draw in the river draw in all the streets put in squares for the houses draw in the trees in the park now you have another map a map that tells a great deal about the town and does it in a language of signs of course most maps describe areas larger than this town suppose we look at another photograph taken from an airplane this shows the whole valley where the town is as we would see it from ten thousand feet up in the air there's the town there's the river these are the roads there's the railroad these are woods these are farm houses in the valley now if you wanted to describe this valley you could do it in the sign language of maps one color for the bodies of water another color for the woods lines for the town more lines for the roads another line for the railroad squares for houses and farmsteads now we have a map of the valley that tells a great deal about it but to read it we have to know what the signs mean that this stands for a river with a railroad alongside it this for the town this for the woods these squares for houses and farmsteads all these signs describe what's in the valley but there are other signs we also have to know to read this map one of them is the scale what is a scale george knows that scale is an exact measurement of distance on a map when he and tommy make a map of the playground at school the first thing they do is to measure the playground and find the exact location of everything on it for instance the distance from the ball field to the slide this measures thirty feet george writes down this measurement on a rough drawing of the playground the boys measure everything in feet but when they come to make the finished map they have to change these measurements from feet to inches they decided the map should be 12 inches square but the playground is 120 feet square dividing 12 into 120 gives 10 so 1 inch on the map has to stand for 10 feet on the playground this is their scale and so since the ball field is 30 feet from the slide george draws in the slide three inches from the ball field on the map when everything is drawn according to scale they have a map of the playground the distances between objects are exact but before anyone can read the map george has to write down the scale one inch equals ten feet on the playground now anyone can tell with a ruler how far the slide is from the ball field larger maps are made in much the same way surveyors and map makers can make maps right out in the countryside they use instruments that give them exact measurements to scale with these instruments they can determine the exact location of every feature of the landscape they locate the streams and hills the roads woods and buildings and they measure exactly the distances between them then they draw all these features on the map exactly to scale this is the way the map of our valley was made everything the map maker measured was set down on the finished map in the language of signs now to use this map we have to read all the signs shown on it first the scale the scale tells us three inches on the map stand for a mile in the valley so this lake must be about a mile from town next there's the direction sign this tells us that the top of the map is north so we go north and west to the lake besides the direction sign and the scale there's something else to read this is the legend telling us the meaning of the signs on the map and finally we read the title telling us what part of the world is shown on the map now all big maps can be read just as we read this map but many maps carry other kinds of information this roadmap for instance pictures the highway system of a whole state the driver can tell what information it carries by looking at the title and the legend if he wants to choose a route to take to his destination he can find it on the map the map tells him what road to take how far it is to his destination and it tells him much more than this [Applause] [Music] when he starts off on his trip again he knows a good deal about what's ahead he knows what towns and cities he will pass through on his way how big they are and how far away they are he knows what the condition of the road will be where the road will curve and where it will go straight [Music] he knows where he will come to bridges over the large streams and wide rivers some bridges cannot bear the weight of his truck knowing these things helps him to choose his route and it also helps him to follow the road to his destination and we can also go places with a good map either in person or in imagination or we can visit any place in the world if we know how to read the sign language of maps [Music] so yes it happened um i got confused uh with a telecine made out of lasagna and um i uh oops it's gone it's totally gone um the flash transfer 16 is gone uh into another room and uh [Music] the plan is we're gonna move blackmagic sintel in here and i will have better fidelity in transferring and higher quality in transferring film and we'll be able to do high quality scans while we're watching the films versus that machine which can only do sd scans so we're going to try that out and see if that works it might not so there's that um let's uh let's watch this film and try to figure out what what is it selling uh this is a beautiful color um beautiful narrative where mom is obviously the head of the household everything pivots around her and let's see what uh what she wants and what's being sold this is decorating unlimited [Music] nancy kevin hurry up it's late i can't find my notebook look in the bookcase i just did where else should i look hello can i speak to nancy please just a minute nancy tell the phone hello oh hi elsie yes see in 10 minutes couldn't we get a telephone in my room mother stand on the chair but we don't have a full-length mirror and you yourself said it was getting less nancy that's enough and don't forget your leotard ballet class today yes genie honey where is my blue suit you know blue suit oh it's at the cleaners did you get a chance today would you call and ask them to deliver it i made a note thanks honey [Music] there are your books kevin under the and now you're not gonna overdo this thing are you no dear you're sure you aren't taking on too big a job for yourself oh smell the day i'm ready for anything you know there's a there's a certain something in the air can't you feel it something magical well there's nothing like a little magic to make life easier so long honey oh fred you forgot something i remember not a cent more than we color i'm trying for you see this picture i'm trying for this effect oh i get it you want pink yeah the room all one color but different shades that makes the room look a lot bigger yes excuse me [Music] good [Music] i wouldn't mind people selling things if i didn't have to run so far to say no now let's see where were we here oh yes we'll put a closet there and there with a bed in between giving an alcove effect and then we'll stretch a candlewick spread over the inside walls of the alcove and then why don't you go and see what's going on in the boys room oh [Music] this room's impossible give anything to get rid of those beds oh you again i piggy pie oh oh nothing it's all right now you really agree that this type of floor is is the most practical for boys well it's easier to keep clean it's cheaper too you won't have to worry about the boys spilling it's just easier all around that's for me [Music] i wouldn't go back and watch the man shh mommy's thinking i'm going to need help with this room i help you mommy thank you sweetie but i mean help from some expert like a decorator it's not like upstairs i could handle that alone with my calls but what now well i'm ready for anything today how do you do i was hoping it might be you well this seems to be your day i'm here oh peter you come back here don't you bother the man i want mommy i just want to show you something i'm sorry but is there anything worse than a two-story conversation now you want to change this oh i will okay as soon as possible but we'll see to that oh well fine won't you come in oh this'll be very interesting i have a theory about living rooms and now you were saying that our living room must change as you change and since you will eventually convert the the basement to a family room you can afford a more formal living room oh yes and now i don't have to worry about the wear and tear of three small children i noticed you have a lovely garden why not bring the outdoors indoors for the garden colors and the the flower prints oh and lots of of flowering plants perhaps yes yes we but first things first yes but we'll see now for the walls we'll borrow a little blue from the sky [Music] why they are beautiful and i love that latticework on those bookcases ah yes and next i think the floors uh following the outdoor indoor thing we'll we'll cover the floors with a slate tight vinyl and then a soft oh that shade so restful with the blue walls i think now as for furniture we'll use the colors from your very own garden now let me see if that wing back chair that's fred's favorite chair i don't think he would look best right there [Music] looks comfortable don't you think now the sofa would work nicely as a room divider you see it's high enough to separate the living and dining areas and then right behind the server we put from floor to ceiling folding wooden screen but aren't they expensive so you can get the panels already made and then we'll paint them white using the color of the walls as a contrasting trim [Music] yeah you see when you have your screen all pushed back you have one large room and when they're closed you have two rooms ah i'm hungry oh my goodness is it that late already mommy will you excuse me i better fix lunch yes go right ahead uh i have some more things to do here now let me see there's the entry hall i'm from the telephone company oh come on in my new home interphone could you put the kitchen uh telephone right here this is where i need it the most all right well i think they're just wonderful no more running up and down stairs no yelling up and down either they do just about everything but babysit they may even do that how's that man it's fine [Music] hello who is it it's agnes g i was just walking by when i saw your new entry beautiful well i'm glad you like it i'll be right there new entry [Music] wow hello agne hello gene say i love your home interphone you can answer the front door by telephone and the back door too and i love those numbers i've seen them in stores where they make signs but who'd have thought of using them like this so big and easy to see and those lamps they're big too and on the ground that's a new wrinkle how about all this glass it's like a year-round greenhouse and it certainly beats walking directly into the living room come on in oh you're too busy oh no come on in oh it's beautiful i've just fixed a small salad half of it is yours if you'd like it's hardly enough for two hungry people and if i know you agnes you're hungry oh no thanks well just perhaps a cup of tea wonders never cease just a small salad gene honestly you do things with such imagination and ease amazing yes sometimes i'm amazed too what an original salad oh gene we got professor cronin for our next meeting he's going to speak on should parents do homework do we have a choice [Music] say not bad hi mom hi hello kevin how's school all right i guess just wait until you see what's happened good that's what i hoped we're having guests for dinner guests tonight oh relax honey just throw something together you see the the ramsay's came in town unexpectedly you know how he goes for your home cooking but fred tonight don't you realize just a little casserole honey that's all i ask fred you don't know what you're asking this is d-day honey just kicked the paint cans over to one side couldn't you genie genie whatever you say he's your customer and if he sits in wet paint well goodbye customer you're taking this very well honey well i'm too stunned to argue thanks jenny bye wow hi mom i'm home hi dear how was your ballet class okay any call nope oh pooh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] mother where are you i'm right here how do you like it it's nice oh mother it's fabulous oh i'm glad you're happy and this new inner phone is great why you don't even have to pick up the phone [Music] by washing if i don't transfer it now i'll never get dry oh what stop put that stove back you're ruining my dinner stop please stop oh it's you mrs rogers your beef casserole is doing fine [Music] that was a scare i added a pinch of salt but where's the rest of the stove right here with a large working area adjacent under this work area your dishwasher and over here your washer dryer combination giving you still more counter space oh goodbye basement and here is your family-sized freezer and refrigerator it's wonderful and you even brought dessert a whole thing just like that magazine picture that you brought into the store yeah oh yes and it's beautiful as well as being efficient and just look at this family dining area it's so comfortable and the rugs it's like an early american quilting pattern and everything is so easy to keep clean and did you notice the window treatment before they were square you know and now they've been arched and that outdoor indoor idea is here in the kitchen too the board and baton wall is like an outside wall and the parts have been painted a barn red that's the telephone it sounds nice doesn't it yeah hello nancy please yes just a minute daddy nancy telephone for you is betty thanks mother hi betty hi nancy guess what your little step savor you talking to yourself again genie oh hi darling well how do you like it say you had it cut oh fred you're hopeless tell me what's new only everything but i'll tell you about it later if you're going to change you better hurry you're right oh mother you look beautiful in your nude and you even smell good too well thank you darling how do you like eating in the new windows he peed great yeah it makes food taste better i can't wait till my friends come over they'll love eating in here like on a porch and i love the conveniences like the linen chest and the washer dryer in the kitchen at last oh especially now that everything's washable even your walls go in you mean the candle we're covering my alcove and the boy's turquoise curtains and spreads too that's right now children your father's friends will be here any minute kevin will you rinse the plates and nancy put them in the dishwasher what do i do you just stay my sweet little boy now you're going upstairs and get ready for bed go on now i'll be up in a minute red yes genie they'll be here would you answer the doorbell i'm pretty busy sure honey hi george is that you yeah hey fred where are you uh just sit tight i'll be right down you know the minute i came in i knew there was something different why it's the garden style furniture it's so light in color and design and of course all the glass and during the day it's wonderful it's like being outside when you're inside or inside out well there's one thing that hasn't changed the food's just as good as ever it certainly is well thank you let's go into the living room and have coffee oh wonderful oh that white fingers what a cook that you come george genie i'm gonna run upstairs and check on peter are you restless the last couple nights you don't have to with a new home interphone the telephone in the boys room picks up every noise and we can hear it down here like this everything's fine man from the telephone company said a built-in babysitter how was that george i got some good news oh my those are unusual cabinets and and the the lattice keeps them from being heavy in this gay airy room but they must have been expensive well that's just it they look expensive but they aren't they're just old bookcases and it's simple for the carpenter to to add the doors the lattice work or strips of wood you can buy in the lumber yard for less than three cents a foot i certainly admire your itch in picking colors oh it is encouraged these are the colors i'm happiest with i mean all the trouble it is to keep them clean no more trouble than a handkerchief really you know the slip cover the draperies the pillows have a soil resistant finish but suppose you picked the wrong ones then you're stuck with bright colors you don't like well here's a trick a decorator taught me you buy a piece of material and let it lie around the house for a while then you decide if you really like it oh i see and another tip i picked up you know i always thought of lighting as something to help me see better but the decorators also use it to to cast interesting shadows on the walls on the floor and to separate areas it was a nice evening wasn't it we'll have to change that give a party oh we'll change the house again when when nancy gets married and the boys go to college but for one room for the view for two [Music] and you know i only came upstairs three times today thanks to alexander graham bell say this is wonderful oh you mean you're like the decorating i mean you got my blue suit you really did a wonderful job on the house so fast almost like magic you um didn't go over the budget did sorry how much two dollars and 33 cents not way over like maybe say uh five dollars or something [Music] you know freda i wonder if i should have tried beige in the living room instead of blue hello mr mccall's at your service did i understand you to say that you were dissatisfied with something i should have known you could hear me no don't give it another thought everything's faked anything i'm glad to hear [Music] so there's definitely you know att there's there's a phone sub thing there but some people picked up on the mccall's and uh howard mcnair you know him as floyd the barber wonderful character actor uh who uh is was obviously in andy griffith's show but he was in the twilight zone he was in a bunch of really great 50s and 60s television um in some movies uh and there was another he was in the flintstones he plays his voice is so um recognizable he has this kind of way that he talks it's pretty great um that he does exploit the barber uh but he plays a doctor in the flintstones and he shows up quite a few times in there but there was another person in this film that was a flintstones voice um that was b bernadette she was betty so big fan of b bernadette and her her work she also showed up in the beverly hillbillies and she also character actor in a bunch of things um what do we got how much time we got um let's uh learn about woody woodchuck's adventure it's a good way to start the weekend is to learn about a woodchuck's adventure enjoy wow [Music] it is late winter father woodchuck is looking out from the doorway of his underground home all winter long he and mrs woodchuck have been asleep waiting for spring in spring everything comes to life again flickers nest in the old tree owls are out hunting an opossum looks for food among the branches a squirrel nibbles tender plants a frog enjoys the warm sunshine and here's father woodchuck some call him a groundhog below in their underground home mother woodchuck is waking her sleepy young family outside father makes sure that it's safe woodchucks have enemies this hungry hawk would like a woodchuck for dinner it may be the hawk won't see father woodchuck but he's searching with keen eyes for something to pounce upon better play safe no hawk can reach the woodchucks under the ground away goes the hungry hawk it may be safe now to bring the family out [Music] has the hawk gone [Music] yes it's all clear [Music] the woodchucks are very hungry after their long sleep the babies are very shy when they first come into the sunlight mother chuck has to help there are many things to eat grass tender leaves roots even so mother has to push the timid babies toward their food all about her blades of grass and clover on every bush are fresh green leaves and these are mother wood chuck's favorites look a battle for a piece of carrot father woodchuck is brought in how the babies fight over it hungry little chucks can be pretty rough little woody one of the chucks wanders away after all it should be easy to find something else to eat woody likes to nibble grass and there's plenty to be had what's this is it another enemy it's only michael out for a walk in his father's fields mother and woody's brothers and sister have heard michael and they move quietly back to their borough michael doesn't know about the woodchucks yet and woody is much too busy to listen for signs of danger he's a hungry little woodchuck with much food to eat michael and his dog blackie often take long walks in the fields and the woods there are interesting things to see michael and blackie are coming close michael sees little woody now woody has seen michael he creeps away there goes blackie what will happen now like he waits woody lies very still now he can stand it no longer woody's hurrying back to his home away dashes blackie quickly he catches up but what should he do now have sharp teeth and they can fight better wait for michael look out what a brave little woodchuck to jump right out at a big black dog [Music] away goes woody to hide under a bush it would be fun to have a baby woodchuck for a pet careful michael that's a safe way to take hold of a woodchuck now the long trip through the trees and on up to the house blackie and michael happy little woody very frightened soon michael has woody's new home ready inside it he has put fresh dandelion leaves will woody try to get out or will he eat the dandelions well woody is a sensible little fella after all his new home seems safe and what woodchuck can refuse crisp dandelion leaves woody's strong front teeth are good for cutting or gnawing much like a beaver's teeth his claws are long and sharp good for digging his feet have soft pads on the bottom michael is bringing something else for his new pet a bottle of milk why of course for a little chuck like woody is used to getting milk but from his mother just watch this blackie perhaps the milk will make woody feel much more at home do you think woody is happy back you go woody oops here woody woody away he goes straight for his home woody scoots home so quickly he frightens the whole family soon he has a big story to tell everybody late in summer woody is fat and almost full grown he's making his own home digging down in the soft earth he tears the earth with his teeth and pushes it back with his feet all the soil he loosens he must take up and scatter outside the entrance it's a big job out of the burrow it flies woody's new home will soon be finished here's a woodchuck's underground home the entrance under a tree or rock a tunnel down to the main room and to several smaller rooms and an opening into the field a back door for fresh air and protection woody is clearing his tunnel there's a lot of soil to move and those hind legs keep busy pushing it out next he gathers leaves to line his underground room he keeps steadily at it the cold weather will soon be here some leaves are hard to pull off but woody is determined so at last he has a big big mouthful of leaves here's the last step in getting ready for winter it's to close the tunnel that leads down to the big room woody packs it with loose soil do you ever wonder how it is that animals seem to know just where to build their homes and how to make them snug and warm autumn comes and leaves change color and fall nights are cold winter is coming the last entrance is closed now the freezing winter wind can't blow inside woody's home is snug and warm he's ready for a long winter sleep the snow lies deep outside but down under the surface of the ground woody and all the other woodchucks are sleeping in their cozy leaf-lined homes they will not eat or go outside or even awaken until it's almost springtime again woody um in spite of what they say in the film do not pick up a wild woodchuck do not do it no no no um just a horrible idea uh thanks everybody for tuning in today i appreciate uh your comments and you noticing you guys noticed the details uh and so in theory if everything works out okay we'll have a new uh scanner set up on monday and we'll be watching films from that and hopefully that will be better quality i'm hoping we're you know doing a series of tests and make sure we can get the quality keep the quality and make it better um somebody said you know we're always striving here and it's true we're always striving to make things harder for myself that's how i do home movie days i was like i'm like well that was great let's add this now let's add
