Explains that within the egg, the circulatory system of the chick embryo is relatively inaccessible to detailed microscopic study. Shows a new technique which enables the researcher to explant the 72-hour chick embryo and the entire area vasculosa onto a solid medium. Points out that the circulation in the transparent membrane surrounding the embryo can now be studied at high magnification with transmitted light for periods up to 24 hours.
