Complete Record: Subject: This Department of Defense film begins with a short history of Korea - Land and People up to the creation of the truce treaty of the DMZ. The remainder depicts the Korean War in chronological sequence from June 25, 1950, to the truce agreement on July 27, 1953. Actual combat scenes follow advances and retreats of the United Nations Forces. Some footage of the amphibious landing at Inchon is shown. All original and excellent footage of war- authentic (narration may be less so- rather a propaganda piece- pro American, anti communist). Shots: Great aerial footage of plane in flight and bombs being dropped. Much footage of soldiers on the ground with rifles and driving tanks. Begins with book with cover “38th Parallel, volume 1”, open book to find map of Korea, then overhead shots, buildings, mountains, shots blasted at night, native peoples, Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. President Truman in front of microphones, shot of New York harbor and United Nations building, inside UN, Warren Hoffman “assistance to the Republic of Korea”, describes battles, communists (American propaganda), fighter jet, on field and in air- shoots down on enemy below, air lifted soldiers, Koreans cheer U.S. soldiers, on battlefield, ship with soldiers and jeeps, General Walker, troops, B-29s take off from Japan, footage of bombs being dropped and explosions below, airfield, jets take off and in flight, hand on the throttle, rice patties below being fired upon, in the cockpit, ship at sea, come ashore in smaller boats, maps with arrows, hokey dialog of soldiers recounting their war activities, destroyed bridges, tanks shooting, marine brigade, machine guns, bazooka, “red snipers”, flame thrower, Koreans captured, Hong Kong forces get food, “red offensive”, air craft carrier - planes take off, “red army”, “UN forces”, loading rockets and firing them from ships, General MacArthur, surrendering Korean soldiers, buildings ablaze, 7th Infantry Division, attacks on Seoul, paratroopers, Koreans wave white flags at American soldiers driving by, rockets fired from ground, battled capitol building, homecoming for Korean people who had fled - going through the rubble, building new homes, graveyard - crosses, star of David, lay wreath on grave, salute, large plane takes off -view from cockpit, bombs dropped, propeller.
