Description: Victor Nunez's second feature takes its title from a rare phenomenon, the green flash, that sometimes occurs at sunset on Florida's west coast. In this offbeat, contemporary drama, Jimmy Wing, a newspaper reporter in the small town of Palm City, accepts a bribe to provide information to his boyhood friend, Elmo Bliss, an ambitious county commissioner. Bliss plans to use the information to blackmail opponents of an ecologically disastrous land development scheme. Wing's fall from grace is a puzzling event in an otherwise moral life. He is loyal to his terminally wife and acts as a surrogate father to the children of his best friend's widow. Moreover, he truly loves Florida's coastal environment of mudflats and mangrove swamps. Jimmy sees the proverbial light only after several lives have been wrecked and a couple of people have been injured. (Does not circulate). Genre/FormFeature films.
