Complete Record: Four members of a family separated by divorce discuss the reasons for and the effects of separation. The mother and father describe their lack of communication and dialog, their newfound pride in their independence, and their dislike of the false romantic dream of marriage. Home movies and still photographs summarize the 18-year marriage. Insightful documentary from “The Great American Dream Machine.” Marital problems were not discussed. Father’s sense of self was lost and one day he packed his bags and walked out. Teenagers interviewed and photographs of the kids as children were included.
