Description: Directed by Jimmie Mundell, “A Dove Tale” is a 1958 film that follows four Texans on a dove hunt. Or, “what happens when a dedicated dove hunter, a ditto quail hunter, a crack rifle shot, who thinks a shotgun is for boys and old ladies, and a joker who likes a dove hunt, but who likes to laugh better, all get together on the same range.” In between hunts, the men settle in for a dove dinner and debate the superiority of shotguns versus rifles. The film stars and was produced by Conrad “Connie” Fath. Fath owned and operated Fath Boats and Motors in Austin. His wife, Shudde, was a prominent civic activist. She was also a founding member of the City of Austin's Electric Utility Commission, serving from 1977 to 2017. Conrad Fath passed away in 1990.
