This film dramatizes the story of Andrew Boyd, the fourth person in New Zealand to die of AIDS. As his friends gather to nurse him through the last weeks days of his life, Boyd's conservative farming family arrives and struggles to face the tragedy in their own terms. The film is narrated in part by Boyd's friend Simon who voices the varied feelings of the caretakers.
