Presented by the Dallas Chapter of the National Hemophilia Association, this film details many aspects of blood plasma fractionation, the process by which blood is separated into individual useful components that can be concentrated and injected directly into patients’ blood.A panel of prominent chapter members discusses the processes, including the collection of blood from donors, fractionation systems and procedures, and the benefits to patients.At the time this film was produced, the concept of fractionating blood was in its infancy, but the possibilities were endless to doctors specializing in blood and clotting disorders.The National Hemophilia Association was established in 1948 with a mission to find better treatment options and possible cures for bleeding and clotting disorders and to promote education on these diseases and advocacy for patients.
