Description: Outtakes from “A Song to Remember” (1945) on Frederic Chopin. Elegant 19th century audiences in symphony hall responding to musical performance. This is a cyan color separation roll.

These eight rolls of color separation negatives serve as an example of Technicolor's three-strip production process, in which a customized camera simultaneously exposed three black and white negatives through magenta, yellow and cyan filters. Later, edited negatives would be used to produced printing matrices that transferred color dyes to print stock.
