I ladies and gentlemen from the KPBS television Studio San Diego California Ms Productions presents the talent Corporation starring Larry Ellis Sing Sing a Song Sing Out Loud sing out strong Benny gy sing of good things not bad sing of happy not [Music] [Applause] sad sing sing a song make it simple to last your whole life long don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear just sing sing a [Music] song nobody can tell you there's only one song worth singing they may try and sell you cuz it hangs them up to see someone like you you got to make your own kind of sing your own special s Make Your Own Kind of Music even if nobody else along sing Sing a Song Sing Out Loud Sing Out strong don't worry that it's not good enough for anyone else to hear Sing just make your own kind of music sing your own special song just make your own kind of music [Music] thank you thank you very much ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the show now we're very happy to be here but we're even happier that you're here uh my name is Larry Ellis I'm Paul Hansen and I'm Benny Gades and we are the talent Corporation and you know as performers it's not very easy to get that really first big break I I mean it's a lot of hard work and takes a lot of patience trying out to get a part in a show or a picture oh yeah we all spend a lot of time knocking on doors and preparing for those auditions oh and speaking of auditions you know everybody in this business at one time or another had to audition I mean even Barbara stron or Robert Redford or Paul Newman or Zelda gomers and Zelda gers oh yeah well she didn't make it was awful it's a very lonely business auditioning it's a lot of heartbreak a lot of waiting around no one to talk to you're all on your own how true do you remember the first time we met remember that audition do I remember that audition nervous wck that's how I remember have they called my name yet Benny Daddy's Benny daddy he's not here no that's me did you say something no look you shouldn't be so nervous I mean a producers are no different than you and me I mean they get up in the morning and they have their breakfast and they put on their pants exactly like you and me not exactly hey hey don't don't don't be so nervous cuz think the producers are probably as nervous as we are they're like a a coach for putting together a major team for a football game right so that's why I always get tackled maybe should let them think you've Got Confidence that's right that's right show them you can stand on your own two feet right Mr bird Mr Larry [Music] Ellis ready to see you now good luck confidence maybe I should have want a tie oh if only I had one more day to rehearse those songs I'd show them oh what am I so nervous about I know I'll just pretend that I'm really [Applause] [Music] somebody [Music] how can I be sure in a world that's constantly changing how can I be sure where I stand with you with you whenever I whenever I'm away from you I want to die cuz you know I want to stay with you how do I know maybe you're trying to use me flying to highight and confuse me touch me but don't let me down don't let me down whenever I whenever I'm a away from you my alibi is telling people I don't care for you maybe I'm just hanging around with my head my head upside down it's a Pity I can't seem to find someone who's as pretty and [Applause] [Music] the name of the game is life we play between our Slumbers seems it's very close to painting by the numbers some don't paint at all and then one day they find their Spectrum goes from black to gray you simply look around as each new day unfur at the nice ways to color up your world [Music] color every tree leafy green paint the rolling sea aquamarine and then with blue paint the heavens above and don't forget to color your heart with [Music] love color every field gold with grain roses paint them red and wash them with rain speckle the birds like the robin the do and don't forget to color your heart with [Music] love music has color that glows for a mile so has sadness but so has a smile the world's full of colors and isn't it a crime when someone doesn't take the [Music] time so color all your world Shiny Bright paint the day with sun and silver the night you'll find a glow you weren't even thinking of a brand new Jo from painting your heart with laughter with [Music] kindness with [Music] [Applause] love [Music] I did it I did it great what did you do what did you do I did it what I did it well how was it oh no no no problem uh what what did he say no no no no no problem that's what I thoughty said ol look don't don't shake like that you shouldn't be so nervous it's just an audition just try to be calm and take a deep breath I'm nervous I can tell by how fast I'm chewing my gun but I don't have any gun I wish I could talk to my friends before we went in Huntley could I talk to you please Huntley not now we're rehearsing Huntley I need to talk to you now all right all right hold it Miss K you may lift my lid Huntly the peanut butter and jelly sandwich at your service what is the problem well Huntley I'm a little bit nervous really nervous uh-huh and I don't know what to do about it I'll tell you what you do stop it Huntley that's no help at all really if you can't take it straight from the shoulder then go talk to M cake she is used to mothering and will not offend your delicate sensitivities Hunley I'm sorry really GL I don't care all right there you see that she's beautiful refined and above all she oh hush up Huntley rude I forgot to mention rude what seems to be the trouble po iy well I'm a little bit nervous a little nervous H you'd think we were auditioning for an execution all right Huntley you've had your little smartness now you're through D now's whole what exactly are you nervous about well I'm afraid they might not like us oh you know Paul you're probably right oh oh dear what are we going to I should have warn my peach jam I feel crummy going to P we're going to bom wait minut fire fire wait wait a minute you two now you're both fine don't be nervous you know your material people like you you're going to do just wonderfully really do you really think so you wouldn't kill of course I wouldn't you're going to do fine really oh thank you Paul honey I feel a lot better now me too that's great you see that wait a minute I was the one who was nervous don't be silly Paul you nervous you were glorious no I I'll tell you you must ask the great unknown he predicts things we've got to rehearse Now put on our Lids please he I want to know what start the song okay I need to know what I'm going to sing okay thanks a lot for your help I really appreciate it I'm going to go ask the great unknown what to sing is oh great unknown come forward what do you want I I would like a little bit of advice about what maybe I speak louder I said I would like a little advice on what I should sing tell me what to sing I can not tell you what you should sing I can only predict what you are going to sing okay predict cost you nickel nickel I may be easy but I am not cheap I'll pay you later okay okay I predict you will sing your own song Morrow Bay oh there uh can I sing it for you no why not if you can pretend to talk to a peanut butter sandwich you can pretend to talk to a prend audience oh well I okay then but I'd rather do it for and good luck thank you hello pretend [Music] audience I met her in a bar near moral Bay we watched the moon shot on TV it didn't last a year nor a day but at least she spent the whole weekend with me now every time I hear a countdown I remember at the sight of Walter kronite my eyes begin to blur we took a little room above the bar with a portable RCA by the light of a black and white Earth and Moon we made it both night and day now space exploration defies an explanation there are no words I can say but I don't want to go to the Moon just to that bar near more [Music] oy and relive with her one weekend then let it be over and done one more time when I can be her one and only 5 4 3 two [Music] one so if you just relax and everything will be okay you know what I mean Mr Paul Hansen please everything's going to be fine I'm ready everything's fine I'm comfortable I'm relaxed I'm ready oh I always have to be last just once I just love to get a chance to get my makeup on night before I go to an audition how would you like to look like this well I'd love to but I didn't have a chance oh he's going to be calling my name any minute I look so time but not tonight tonight is our [Music] night I'm recalling times when I was small and light and free jubile [Music] days old folks praying everybody swaying loudly I chanted my pra how I sang
