Description: This 1960s TV commercial for Gold Dial Soap promotes the secret ingredient "AT7", -- actually hexachlorophene -- which protects against odor. "Don't You Wish Everyone Did" use Dial -- is the tagline. Dial is manufactured by Henkel, and was the world's first antibacterial soap. It was originally developed by Armour and Co. and promised "round-the-clock" protection against odor. AT7 or hexachlorophene, the active ingredient in Dial, was removed in the early 1970s amid reports that it caused neurological damage in infants. It was replaced with triclocarban, a synthetic antibacterial compound.
