much of a desire to manage somewhere I might be forced to get back in the game although I've had a couple of opportunities to manage I can't say that I was anxious at all but I might in the future my man might be forced from for financial reasons to get back into the game but passive time I'm very happy to be in the position that I am no tire I'd like to know who you think that the greatest picture you ever batted again well of course the greatest picture is it necessarily the man was the most effective to me for some reason look whatever you might call it I was I was very fortunate and hitting some of the pictures that I considered great but I have had a great deal of trouble hitting pictures that might shall not have such good averages I will name a couple well it was a picture of the name of morgridge that was with Washington that troubled me quite a bit there's the pitch above the name Wyoming with st. Louis that troubled me a lot and all the great pictures apart from that time your estimation the great pictures ed watch Robert Johnson Alexander Christie Matheson edit plank build out of them many others that I I don't mean to leave out but I just can't think of a mr. tomorrow that's a big list of that yeah now right to know how do you think the Athletics make out this year well I think the athletics will win and this year won the first pennant they have developed a lot of confidence and I think they'll be fighting for another pennant every inning of every game with coming season they'll be mighty tough to beat the Cubs are to repeat they they're in the same position they've made some improvements in well in the lineup they haven't I don't believe they'll have the the opposition that they have headaches will have I think they'll win justice easy as they want a lot easier than they want last year well I guess that's about what I want to know as you know baseball takes a man away from his family he has to travel a greedy you live in the hotel and after a while it gets rather we're not tired and I'll have to admit that's I haven't had one regret as to my retirement from baseball since I announced my retirement in 1928 I also would like to get my dear what you who you think is the greatest picture of a pattern again well I can only name four or five the greatest and I can't help but say that young was one of the greatest pitchers of overlord for the simple reason that he he won in his career now it is when a man wins 20 games he's supposed to have had a great season well you can figure that out it also won one twittered ballgames for 25 years and eight besides of course we have other wonderful pictures we have water Johnson ed watch Christie Madison Alexander and many many other pictures I don't want to forget what L and Frank Pennock of the present day cloud Bill Donovan a wonderful picture in Detroit I can't conclude him at this time but we've had some marvelous pictures but there's no one is ever began to touch scions record of winning 508 more games in fact 508 ball games is more than a lot of the present day pitchers pitch in and their whole career well another thing I wanted to learn for this time how do you think of the American League race this year well I think the Athletics will repeat they have a young Club they have a club that's just found themselves where a very strong Club in 1927 a meet but they didn't know just how good the work they didn't have the confidence but they had all the other qualities now they found themselves and I believe they'll run away with the race this year because of the rule a new club winning a pennant in such a decisive manner as the Athletics did last year they they ought to repeat very easily with the increased confidence and determination do you think the Cubs will come back and I believe the Cubs will repeat yes yes they've had a taste of success and now they're there they'll be hard to beat every game and every inning of the season well of course you can't figure in New York out of any pennant race and there's Pittsburgh while st. Louis nationals and don't forget my old friend Ben Holly since the matter he will be here to make things look up wouldn't surprise me to see him finish even as good as third well that give me a good story tight thank that's what I wanted to get out thank you hi how does it feel to be down here in Georgia hunting instead of training in a bowl camp well I'll tell you I after playing ball for 25 years and since I was a kid say 17 years of age having to follow along schedule having every day of the season schedule ahead of time no matter what you'd like to do you [Music] otherwise in baseball you had to keep that schedule and there's a lot of things all during my career that I have wanted to do I've wanted a lot of hunting I wanted a lot of fishing I've run away I wanted to travel although I don't want to say that I will never play again I'll take that back I've never want to play again but I might want to be connected in some capacity directorship of a club the presidency of a problem now you take all the ballplayers [Music] seem to like to hurt I think it's an indication that that the hardships of the game really appeal really poured on them and they ought to get out and get the relaxation I think we're about to sing now you think
