Description: The picture falls into three parts: the physiology of the eye; how the eye works and the causes of long and short sight; and diseases of the eye and their cure. "It discusses the proper care of the eyes in daily life, warns against reading in bed and declares that knitting is preferable to fine needle work, which tires the eyes. Children should never gaze directly at the sun without dark glasses, and above all, to have good eyesight children must have good food and get frequent rest and exercise."
